Help moving to usa....

Re: Help moving to usa....

well said...that's what exactly i had in mind when i asked that question. i thin also that once u come to the US on visitor visa u can NOT apply for permanent residency from within the US. you have to go to another country to do that. i mean u can not change your immigration status while you are in the US.

Re: Help moving to usa…

You dont want us to move there…:teary1:

As I said initially we are PLANNING,we are not going tomorrow…D’uh!

Anyway just wanted to get to know some of the different states
I know I dont want to move to
Baltimore
Virginia
Washington DC
Seattle
Las Vegas
New York

The maybe list is
San Antonio
Florida
Houston
North Carolina
Colorado

But things always look better on paper so just wondered if anyone might have good things to say about a certain city

I have a plan and here is a draft for you…
1.get proper settlement/work/residence visa
2.show proof of fianancial stability
3.show work/business proposition
4.move when absolutely ready

these are just very rough outlines…as I have the safety net of being able to visit for 3 months on the waiver program,I only want to travel to those places where I,m planning to move to, 2/3 options will help me to decide the final city then I will apply for appropriate visa…

Now! ab tho sab kuch batadiya…:barbie:

Re: Help moving to usa....

there are two main factors that will decide our fate....

1.not liking the places on our 3 month visit

2.not getting the visa...then I just move back home to rainy England(mum will be happy with this option,so will have to make sure she doesn't find out until it's all done and dusted)

Re: Help moving to usa....

Are you living in Pakistan right now?

Re: Help moving to usa…

what the heck is wrong with Seattle?

Re: Help moving to usa....

Your husbands objective is to be nearby his relatives so you could try to look into the states they live in, America is humongous and you've listed nearly all the major states from every corner of the map. Some of them are equivalent to the distance of UK to USA where in that case you might even be better off in the UK.

Re: Help moving to usa…

**aaaaaaawwwww…we didn’t mean to discourage you by any means…u r most welcome  i understand u r in exploratory mode right now. wish u all teh best.

keep onething in mind though. if u absolutely hate cold weather and tonnes of snow, the stay away from mid-west and the north east. if u hate HOT weather, don’t think of going to Southern California, Arizona…if u hate hot AND humid weather, stay away from Southern States…the rest of the US looks good … jitnaa bhii bachaa hai :omg:

Good Luck

PS: if HURRICANES scare u to death then stay away from Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama and Southern Texas

Re: Help moving to usa....

Re: Help moving to usa....

Re: Help moving to usa…

friends in Quebec

Re: Help moving to usa…

Economical stability wise, Seattle is amongst the top cities of USA. Diversified employers and big names like Mircrosoft, Boeing. Tmobile. Starbucks, Nordtstorm, Amazon and Costco have their head quarters and major operations in this city.

2nd top tourist spot after Hawaii. Tallest mainland US volcano (mt rainier, 14000 feet tall) is only 70 miles from Seattle. There are 10 more with in 3-4 hours drive. Islands, beaches, rivers, falls are within couple of hours drive.

Seattle is amongst the fittest and healthiest cities of USA. Any outdoor activity you can think of; biking, canoeing, paragliding, you name it, and you can do it, right here with in greater Seattle area.

It does rain during winter times but summers are breath takingly beautiful.

Re: Help moving to usa....

well what about work? are you confident that irrespective of location, finding work won't be an issue? i'd think for most people, this would narrow down options quite a bit...

Re: Help moving to usa....
