my current theme is black and white .. and in the new home inshallah , i am keen on a change …
So I have red and white kitchen in mind … any other ideas ? or can anyone share their ideas of how I can refine my plan to achieve a red and white kitchen

Hareem , yes Pine and wood colours is another thing i wanted to stay away from , coz my own home prior to this one was all pine and wood … So I did kind of get bored … this time i want some vibrant colors in the house …
I have always been a fan of the colour red .. want to use that somehow … dont really know how though :no:

Here you go…it might give you some ideas.
You can use red curtains or deco items.
you can paint the wall with red and have indoor plants …they go well with red.
or have red cabinets and furniture.

Have a look in ikea… last time I was there they had a red gloss kitchen on display and it looked amazing!!

^ It was similar to the kitchen in the link but it was a deeper red and the doors had thick chunky steel handles on them. It looked fab!

i like fusions of traditional with modern touches. i find most modern kitchens too cold and uninviting with the cold shiny surfaces.

However Try something more calming to the eye , the red is a lil overwhelming …
Try a Baby Pink Kitchen , First its not all that common and secondly its a place you will be spending a significant part of the day , so it enhances your mood. Pink would be more calm and serene…
And NO this isn’t because I like Pink…its about looking at the bigger picture , I think Kitchen should be a lil understated and in pastel colours:D***

I agree, I'm quite indecisive about how my kitchen will be (yes, I've already thought it out lol) but I would like something that is modern but still quite traditional. Having said that ,I wouldn't mind that red kitchen at all infact I'd probably choose one like it in black or white... I better stop dreaming now lol

Pink might be nice but a big no no in kitchen..me no likey but ofcourse it's a personal choice..
I like the idea of red but don't overdo it... I think little touches would look pretty good. I read somewhere that red enhances your appetite.

hmm I think red could b quite risky, instead of having a red kitchen why dont u accessorize with red kitchen appliances? this way If u get bored of it after a few years, u can easily just switch the red appliances for another colour.

CB - i agree with what the others have said. maybe pick red accessories (i.e. - chairs, chair cushions, fridge magnets, etc.) that will go with the kitchen, instead of making the entire kitchen red. i wonder what Mr.CB’s got to say about a red kitchen? 
that way if you ever get tired of looking at red, you’ll be able to change around the accessories and have a totally new colour in your kitchen!

another idea...maybe you could paint the walls red in the kitchen? and get appliances that work well with the colour?
and then if you're tired of red later in the future, you can always change the paint on the walls!
Only you could post an eye-sore like this
CB, i concur with all the above posters, opt for red walls/accessories and keep the fixtures/cabinets neutral so they look timeless, and if a couple of years down the line you get sick of the sight of red, there won’t be a huge cost implication when it comes to changing it up.

Guys thanks so much , really appreciate the help, Like Maroush and a few of you said , i am opting to keep the cabinets neutral shade , and will be putting deep red splashers on the wall between the top cabinets and the lower ones … with a black worktop … something like thing …

Khair , sheynie , pink shade was something i had in mind , but when i researched colors , We dont get colours very easily in the UK market … red or purple and lime green are the only colour choices in all the major retailers , other then neutral shades :no:

I like the high-gloss cabinets you can get in black with a black granite counter top and stainless steel appliances and extractor hood.
Then you can change the accent colour of the accessories and the walls to whatever you like and voila you have a new kitchen!
