OK..this sentence in the article has taken my attention and appreciate female posters respond to it:

Now i understand that in most of the societies where multiple marriages are allowed, men misuse it and use it for sexual pleasure plus most of these societies are male dominated societies where elder males (fathers, chachas, mamoons) will forcefully marry their daughters against their will to someone who already has a wife or wives for petty benefits … i would say majority of the cases belong to this category

but the tricky question remains: what if a woman is just fine marrying someone who is already married?..by refusing her not to do it and that too constitutionally/legally, aren’t we stopping her from enjoying her basic human right to marry anyone that she wants to…if we can allow her to marry another woman, why cant she marry a man with multiple wives?
