All day long in Birmingham, all schools are closed and conditions outside are atrocious. Forecast is for snow to continue all night and most likely all schools will be closed tomorrow as well. According to BBC it is the worst snowfall since 1981.

how is it where you are?

the county councils didn’t really think that locating resources to improving road conditions after snow were needed, as we haven’t had snow like this for many years…hence why there isn’t a gritter in sight… :nahi:

They wasted all their money on stupid road signs… and speed cameras… :vivo:

**we had the mother of all the snowatorms last year. three low pressure systems merged over the great lakes to form one gigantic system which was fed by warm waters off of Texas, USA in the Gulf of Mexico. we also had snow squalls coming off of the Lake Huron in the wake of the huge system moving away.

we had 67 inches of snow in 24 hour period...that is over 5 and a half feet of snow...a lot of snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!**

that was the storm of the century...the worst since the metereological records have been kept...:(
