I’m in my second trimester and I have had hyperemesis since my first trimester. For the past few weeks I have been having HORRiBe reflux and heartburn no matter what I eat or drink. I don’t even have to eat for it to start. It’s very painful and tums are useless at this point. Did anyone else suffer from this? It makes me super sick to the point that I can go into a vomit attack from it. I just recently started taking the lowest dose of Zantac, but I’m not sure if its really helping.

Yes, I went through it. I still go through the throwups in my 2nd trimester. All I’ve been prescribed is Cyclizine 50 mg, 3 times a day.. its helping me too much. You can ask your doctor for it..

I’m on a zofran pump because I was throwing up a lot. It’s just this stupid heartburn makes me go into the vomit cycle again.

Luckily I didn’t go through the heartburn phase. Speak to your doctor in that case. He can guide you the best. I threw up in every 5 minutes for continuous 8 hours and was hospitalized. Besides that, I threw up about 15 to 20 times each day until I was prescribed Cyclizine. Speak to your doctor at your earliest. Maybe Yogurt can help you or Kachhi Lassi.

Were you diagnosed with hyperemesis? Sounds like hyperemesis to me. I was throwing up 10 plus times a day too and couldn’t even drink water. I have a high risk ob so he ordered a nurse to be sent to my house and I received IV fluids (drip) at home and I received a zofran pump. In my last pregnancy I ended up losing 20 pounds because of hyperemesis and negligence of my idiotic desi ob.
I’m trying smoothies, but I feel like my nausea is creeping back and my appetite is like a child.

I went through the same , I was prescribed a medicine but forgot its name but what helped me most was milk (half portion milk half potion water) with rooh afza . I know its painful and its a horrible feeling and I pray that it gets better soon !

Yes I was diagnosed by hyperemesis gravidaruma. I received IV Fluids too to make sure of having enough water in my body. I was totally dehydrated. Could eat or drink barely.

Is losec to be used with something like Zantac? Or on it’s own?
Yeah it can get very painful and if I end up throwing up from the heartburn I always have blood in my vomit due to my esophagus getting irritated.
Queen do you still throw up?

Yes, I went through it and had to go through a couple of prescription meds until I found one that suited me. The heartburn and acid made me teeth very sensitive afterwards and still ARE!

I think it was Pervacid but its been 8 years. I had a horrible time, try eating bread to soak up the acid, don’t keep your stomach empty (impossible I know when you can’t keep anything down) and also don’t eat things with cilantro and mint leaves in them which are a staple for our desi food.

sounds like you have Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). it’s caused by the shrinkage of the gastric valve which allows the acids of the stomach to flow back into your esophagus causing irritation which sometimes triggers throwing up.
what Losec does is that it reduces the production of acids in the stomach. it should be taken a couple of hours before going to bed.
Losec is one generation up from Zantac-300. Zantac-75 is much milder and is available Over the counter which for Losec and Zantac 300 you need a prescription from the doctor.

I’m on Zantac 75 it’s too mild. Going to complain to the doctor.
Prevacid is a beta blocker I think. Is it safe to take?
I get this from everything though. Eating bread helps for a few minutes only. Even fruits trigger it and make me so nauseous. I can’t tolerate fruits much. Just threw up like a quarter of a sandwich grrrrr.

i think you should consult with your physician and i’m sure he/she will prescribe Losec which will take care of your problem iA.
Losec is very safe…only 1% people get gastric cancer which can be prevented by detecting any sign of cancer early on through endoscopy every five years or so.
