When it comes to marriage should one use his/her heart or brain. Ideally both but what if they conflict, which takes precedance.

After a lot of thinking I conclude that heart and head both need to be on board. After a lot of thought about a business decision I realise that if you cannot decide then you do not know your subject matter well enough and you have to keep on researching until the answer is obvious.

speaking from experience here.
answer is never obvious, because the one who is asked the very pertinent questions, politely or fimrly, is only unable to come up with his own true feelings even, let alone, real answers.
his heart and mind, clearly is not clear.
heart and brain, as you said, cannot function, clinically and psychologically separately.
emotions have a lot of bearing on both organs of the body.
survival and the quality of survival is on stake, yet, the 'unfeeling' can be a doctor and still not feel what he has done.
may he bask and ravel in his gained and practiced liberty to hold back and to have caused severe disappointing hurt.
person who would say, he wont generalize things, ended up scared away and acted all self preserving after hitting and then every thing from before hit too.
if anything, i will say that people are better off as loners, than as targets of someone's flip-flop workings of the heart and the brain.
