yazdi, my gut feeling is what I said yesterday, namely.
"Ten member bench will grant stay against presidential elections and eventually give judgement against Musharaf."
That is because Supreme Court is trying to give both kinds of judgements trying to please both sides, in the process it has stained it's own reputation, but leaving govt and opposition to continue fighting on between themselves.

I think the court will rule in Mushrraf's favor, and they will justify it under 17th amendment and parliamentary act that allows Mushrraf to hold another office.

Well whatever the judgement I hope they rule today, once and for all. All the constitutional arguments were heard for a couple of weeks in detail during the previous petitions, so they should not really need more time to come to a decision. But you never know the Pakistan Supreme Court (or some of it's judges rather), it has been showing some indecisivness over these constitutional arguments recently.

Ok I got. Election will be held according to the schedule, but EC will not issue notification as for as who won until Oct. 17…until court decides the case.

Yup, just read that on the Geo news strip at the bottom of the screen as well.
What do you think of this ruling? How can the EC not annouce the result for another 11 days after the election, especially when everyone will know the result anyway? It’s looks a messy sort of ruling.

This put whole thing in limbo and it will put Mushrraf BB deal in limbo too. I think judges want to wait and see what happens after the election. Kinda middle path for now.

CNN is speculating that it is rather conveniant political timing. SC to decide on 17th, BB to return the next day. Everyone knows Musharraf will win, so he will claim the Presidency for another 5 years on that basis, especially as they are letting him stand in uniform, and from these assemblies.
