Take 2-3 slices of yellow American cheese. Cut them up to pieces (by hand). Place in bowl. Add in just a little bit of milk, so that the cheese pieces are not totally drowned by the milk. Add picante sauce. Microwave for 1-2 minutes. Mix sauce. Eat with nachos.
Anyway, I love to make fruit salads The easy ones
1 apple
1 banana
1 orange
cut them into small bits n slices and mix them up. Add a little bit of orange juice and voila.
Or yoghurt with a little bit of hot honey
Put yoghurt in a bowl, and add a little bit of warm honey. That is soo darn good
I agree with dutch_paki...nothing beats a good fruit salad for a healthy snack. I am always on yogurt or fat free cottage cheese. You can also try garonola with rasberries and blueberries and yogurt.
I get these veggie mix packs from the grocery store; they have sweet baby carrots, broccoli and cauliflower (some of them have green beans too), you don't have to get the pack, just get everything separate & cut 'em yourself. Pop them in microwave for a minute or two. They will be steaming hot. Sprinkle black pepper and then sprinkle the Cheddar mozzarella cheese mix as much as you want. Put 'em back in the microwave for 15-30 seconds if you don't see the cheese melting.
Its a VERY healthy snack because its low carb and desis get all the carb they need from the roti and chawal they eat everyday. No salt because cheese has some sodium and too much sodium isn't good for you.
We also keep these frozen veggie (Chinese) rolls in the freezer and bake them if we want to get fancy with the evening chai.
i like fruit salads as a snack.....especially in summers....
i add mango, grapes, peaches,a pear and some pieces of honeydew....then put some fresh lime or lemon juice over it.....
its to die for.....yummmmoooo....!!
the best health snack is fruit ,hymmm but u can make other things like fruit chat, chana chat etc.u can take skimm yougert, milkshake, too as a snack.
sometimes when i want to give some thing quick t o my kids i apply pizza sause on a bread slice and sprinkle little mozarella cheese on it and grill it in oven for 3,5 min.my kido like this so much.
Grilled veggies take a little longer but are also yummy! Just slice up some eggplant, potato, carrots and whatever else you like. Drizzle with olive oil, some salt/pepper and bake for 15 minutes on high heat.....absolutely yummy with noodles or a side dish or even as is.
Or just keep a bag of mixed greens on hand, and pour into a bowl and enjoy with favorite low fat dressing :)
My healthy snack usually fulfills my cravings for strawberry short cake. I use reduced fat cottage cheese, cut up some strawberrys - mix the two together - put them on top of a toastd english muffin and the final touch is honey...wonderful breakfast item!!
