**2. **Eat lots of raw vegetables and fruits after breaking your fasting.
3. Keep away from high caffeine drinks and sodas.
**4. **Keep away from spicy foods.
5. Keep away from fried and oil filled foods.
**6.**Exercise a bit each day; take up light sports like walking or riding a bicycle.

well that just takes everything away from our traditional iftar now doesnt it! :naraz:

Re: :: Healthy Ramadan ::

If we keep the traditions aside then these are the basic things we can follow. My iftrai meal also cannot be completed without pakorras and samosay *sigh

Re: :: Healthy Ramadan ::

kash k hum pakistani yeh baatein samajh saktay

waisay i avoid salan roti if am having aftari

i think moderation is the key.... i dun make all those oil filled stuff everyday. i wud make them maybe 2 times a week but mostly i just serve dinner at iftari time and then we dont eat until sehri time. but its true... samosay, pakoray, cholay, dahil balle.. khanay ka alag hi maza hota hia ramazan mein :)

Re: :: Healthy Ramadan ::

we are breaking fast at 8, and most of us have to go to sleep by 10. How is anyone supposed to eat healthy :crying:

Re: :: Healthy Ramadan ::

Don't worry too much about food and drinks in Ramazan. Pay attention to doing all kind of ebadat and staying clear of social , cultural , personal evils. You can eat anything or everything if you don't be lazy and do some kind of exercise even if you go for a walk just for 30 minutes anytime of the day that will keep your metabolism in good shape.

Re: :: Healthy Ramadan ::

Check all except #2. Hard to take fruits in raw form after breaking fast but fruit juices are somewhat easier.

e

you can do it better

Re: :: Healthy Ramadan ::

We do the exact opposite :o

Our traditioanl iftars were developed a long time ago when our ancestors had to work hard during the day - like walking or cycling up to the work place, women doing all the domestic work themselves that included taking out water from the well and grinding flour.
