I think we all have always thought water is beneficial and necessary:D
well thats not what this new study shows! now theyre saying it might actually be harmful for some
i personally still feel it does help with headaches, skin, etc.. :snooty:

Re: health benefits of water?
if you’re getting enough water in your diet, it shouldn’t matter. juices help a lot too. and you shouldn’t over drink either, because if your blood gets diluted that’s a bad bad thing :nono:
Re: health benefits of water?
It's all about balance, my friend, balance.
Re: health benefits of water?
beatician, health experts stressed more than required water intake for wayyy too long.
They should apologise
Re: health benefits of water?
Phew, now I don't have to worry about those 8-10 glasses of water anymore.
Re: health benefits of water?
C_R i dont think they stressed more then required water intake. People arent drinking enough water to begin with ....forget about overdrinking it.
Re: health benefits of water?
dont stop just because of some study. studies change all the time. one should also look at the benefits and not just the negatives.
moderation is the key. :k:
besides…your body will tell you when it’s time to drink more.
Re: health benefits of water?
A study is different from research in that it covers a small cross section of the population in a limited time and with limited criteria.
Years of established research has shown that drinking water is beneficial in several ways. However, moderation is the key just like in everything else.

Yes it is possible but water intake is hugely dependant on weather.
8-10 glass of water is not enough in pakistani hot summer. One can easily drink 20 25 glass of water in a day but in winters if you drink one glass then you have to go to loo within an hour. Plus intake of other liquids is important factor too
Re: health benefits of water?
Thats the problem w/ me i tried cutting back on soda nad drinking mor water but i kept having to go every hour! its no fun when ur out all day in school and can’t find a decent bathroom closeby ![]()
Re: health benefits of water?
there was also a recent study that showed soda is addictive:bummer:
Re: health benefits of water?
phir kya hota hai:hmmm: BP low?
Re: health benefits of water?
so true…glad you brought that up.
what kind of liquids?..I would think that water and possibly milk would suffice. ![]()
are you referring to gatorade etc?
i know the feeling…for every 8 oz of water I drink I have to use the bathroom 3x…seriously i counted! ![]()
ok sorry too much info.
sara just imagine… each time you use the bathroom…you are excreting toxins from your body. So it’s well worth it!
Re: health benefits of water?
Milk has sugar in it, a large quantity for people who are diabetic. So while milk is good for growing children, a couple of cups a day should suffice for adults with special conditions.
Nothing can replace pure water.
Re: health benefits of water?
^ Seriously? Milk has sugar? what about skim/lowfat milk?
Re: health benefits of water?
It’s no fun, drinking a lot of water especially in winter, and even more so if you have to go out.
Re: health benefits of water?
well simple bio. blood dilutes, and there isn’t enough salt in the blood, so the equilibrium thing kicks in, and so then the water moves in the cell to balance it out, and they swell up, and the cells can only swell up a certain amount before bursting. and bursting cells aren’t good.
milk has lactose, which is a form of sugar. but isn’t like sucrose. which is like white sugar that you add in everything
Re: health benefits of water?
moderation is the key. if you don’t move around a lot, don’t drink extra water. if your diet contains enough liquid, you’re fine. the other important thing besides water is making sure you have proper nutrition and electrolytes in your system.
Re: health benefits of water?
Basically any excess of carbohydrate not consumed by the body gets converted to fat. If we don't work out, it's lumpy fat deposits all over the place!!!!
Yes, sadly, even skim milk has carbs that are not complex but simple, hence the sugar like Khumar mentioned.
Re: health benefits of water?
natural sugars are bettter for you than processed sugar, which is the white sucrose sugar. fructose, lactose, even glucose is good. they're simple, so body can digest them easily, and your body does need it. that's what technically should be the only sugar we should be taking. except we need sugars so much that we have a natural love for sugar, which we end up supplementing with table sugar and sweets and cakes etc.
