This is SU's biggest nightmare because her food is just oh-so-not-good.
Don't elders tend to say (in the case of the girls anyway) just go ahead with it. I know of cases where girls have found out stuff like future hubby has a gf on the side (in one case was even living with a non-Muslim girl), drinks a lot etc and parents have simply turned round and acted as tho the girl should be grateful she is getting married, or how all the preparations have been done and everything has been paid for or she must go ahead 'to save face' or the infamous 'oh, he will change.' Have lost count of the number of times I've heard that last statement tho if the shoe is on the other foot and the girl has done something wrong it's suddenly, omg she is trouble, a leopard does not change it's spots..
Nadz, don't blame u for being soooo angry, I would be fuming if someone treated a friend of mine like that too. Like a couple of others have said if he is already like that now what is he going to be like after marriage? Oh, and if she has an 'attitude' that is still no excuse to throw stuff at her (or in her direction..). Is he a Neanderthal?? Could he not resolve the problem thru talking like normal people do??
Okay well if the elders are half decent and actually CARE about the future of their daughter then im sure they would do what is best by her. My family is very traditional in many of their ideologies BUT they would never let me marry someone who might keep me unhappy or potentially abuse me!
At the end of the day if your elders are going to force you to marry some psyco then their not exactly samajdaar, No offence to anyone. Anyway i dont think its as common anymore with girls from the UK to marry to save face coz engagements break all the time. But from reading nadz post its obvious that the situation was blown out of proportion and the guy didnt chuck the food at her face. Exactly what i was talking about when i said 'other underlying factors which we donot know about'
and just for the record even 'normal people' show a slight bit of aggression at times, He may of chucked it towards her unintentionally not realising the extent of his 'chucking' He could just of been having a bad day and the attitude of his fiance probably didnt help resolve the situation. Im not making excuses but i think the benefit of the doubt should be given since were unaware of the WHOLE situation

well basically he told her today since he has relatives and his mum dad are in swat, hes really stress for the past 2 weeks, and it was just a bad moment , i think he had just found out there had been a small earthquake too so it was all too much and a little attiude from her didnt help so he flipped so to speak. but he said he didnt chuck it AT HER...just threw it because he was stressed.
hmmmmmmm nice reason but still....not nice.

this sort of rude behaviour is very common in males, i think they should be tied before meal time. either eat it or choke to death.

my cousin told me this happened between her and her soon to be hubby( next month marraige)
She made him something to eat and apparently it was burnt, but she said it wasnt as bad as he made it out, she said it was a burger bun and yes it was burnt alittle but anyhow he made a fuss and then got angry and threw IT IN HER FACE..and walked off.....amongst mutterings under his breath....
now i did not see how burnt the bun was, bit im so angry he threw it at her how dare he...i want her to call this off but marragie ix next month and everything done...also she says hes otherwise a lovely guy....:\
