I don't think even a sensible sunni would call yazid, Hazrat Yazid or follow his practices, a person who had brutally killed the grandson of Prophet pbuh.

While Hazrat Amir Muavia (RA) is a katib-e-wahi, a sahabi-e-Rasool (pbuh) and should be given due respect, same status cannot be accorded to his naalaiq and killer son Yazid....crocodile tears bahaney sey kissi k gunah nahin dhul jaatey!!
Hazrat Yazid is offensive even to most sunnis IMO
