Why is it in our culture that human beings wish ‘aulad e nareena’ for themselves but katti from the buffaloes and cows?
Do we weight aulad (our own and of our herds) as to how beneficial it would be for us in future?
No doubt there is a slight shift in society for accepting daughters, but we still hear ’ bete to choR kar chale jate hain, betiyan to wafa karti hain’.

ppl look at it this way MAYBE , ke wht they invest on their daughters isnt returned to them...but wht they invest on their sons in education , marriage etc is returned to them when the son earns and takes care of them financially , gets married and brings a bahu to take care of them , and brings kids unki nasal chalaney ke liye.

He used to say ke Allah kamaz kam ek awara beta hi de deta....
he used to choose name for boys maga r jab larki hoti to ussi naam ko larkion wala kar dete the...
Iqbal,shahid-shaheda,khalid-Khaleda,gaus-gausia....:D
I think reason for desire for male offspring was due to social status of women at that time...
