Re: Hawa ke naam
Why Desis feel no embarrassment for passing air publicly? :hmmm:
ek joke yaad aa gaya:
*One day President Clinton was visiting Queen Elizabeth and she decided to take him for a tour of London in the Royal Carriage. Now the carriage was being pulled by six Royal Stallions and one of them suddenly passed gas. It sounded like a twenty one gun salute it was so loud. The smell permeated the inside of the carriage and the Queen was totally devastated.*
*"I apologize profusely for the terrible smell inside the carriage", she said.*
*"Oh, that's alright", said the President, for a minute there I thought it was the horse."*

Varun is for water. Vayu is deity (means blower)(A person or device that blows) Vaata means blown literally. Pavana is also used in Sanskrit.

wa'o is also used in Sindhi for air. koso wao is garam hawa... ladies give blessing to their children as 'shala koso wao na lagai'... May you don't have to face hot air (difficulties).

Hawa / Waa is used in almost all Indian languages. Interesting to note that Persian 'Baad' and Arabic 'Reeh' are not that popular. same is the case with words for water. Its pani in almost all Indian languages. Arabic 'Maa'o' and Persian 'Aab' are not in common use.
