Having children

By giving birth, ladies have to sacrfice their figure ?

Is it true or just a myth ? Can a woman maintain same figure after pregnancy or pregnancies.

and same for breast feeding.Does breast feeding also contribute changes to phisical appearance of ladies

Why have you posted this in Corner Room instead of Health and Relationships?

Please move it to appropriate forum.

Thanks

I think a lot of female gain more weight then the baby they carry inside them in their pregnancy. From my observations, I have seen female after giving birth to get a bit heavy. They gain weight around their stomach, tights, behinds and their brests, actually in the problem zones of females. I think the main reason they gain weight is that they are not so flexible during their pregnancy, they of course cannot do lots of exercise and some have to stay in bed due to complications, so its the lack of movement than their diet that women get fat.

As how to maintain their figure, the figure will not be it was before! but I have also seen females getting slim again after the birth when they start exercising again. Sometimes the whole lof extra work with the baby is enough to loose weight.

Most weight gain during the pregnancy should happen in the last trimester. Usually women gain 3 or 4 pounds per month on the last 5 months of the pregnancy. The total weight gained should be about 25 pounds roughly. If the weight gain is normal, most women lose the weight in weeks and months after giving birth.

I've seen pregnant women, who gained no weight anywhere, except on their stomach, and after giving birth, in a matter of weeks have regained their original figure. Breastfeeding also helps to deplete the fat deposited during pregnancy.

And Dr Phil Wizard, how to get rid of stretch marks?

Laser treatment to remove the first layer of skin so the stretch marks are less visible. For those who don't wish to use laser treatments can use prescription creams which can help, or simply hide them with makeup.

"simply hide them with makeup" - Errm, you do realize that almost all women don't get stretch marks where makeup is applicable (like the face). Women are prone to get stretch marks around the hips/stomach area, and you can't really apply makeup there now can you? I don't think it serves a purpose anyway. It's very hard to get rid of stretch marks, i don't think there is an effective way to completely get rid of stretch marks and why should the woman worry about it? The only person who'll see her stretch marks is her husband. The weight should be maintained, i know of people who were bloated before giving birth and who've exercised and gotten back into shape after the delivery.

I think there's too much emphasis all the time on how the woman looks, it's not like most men are greek gods anyway.

Of course you can apply makeup there for the sole purpose of hiding stretch marks. :)

No there is no way to completely get rid of them, but there are creams which can help reduce them or laser treatment. Many women do worry about it, and I'm not only talking aobut desi women, there are women who wear revealing clothing which may allow for some of their stretchmarks to show, or women who wear bikini's at the beach. They may find some use in hiding their stretch marks with makeup.

Fret for us most desi women - bikinis is not an issue so applying make-up on stretch marks seems absurd.

Are you going to be a proud parent soon??

Yes, but the original poster wasn't specific on that, and neither was funguy.

Some ladies give birth and after some time they look the same as the were before pregnancy, like for example late lady diana, Jamaima Khan etc.
I know they are media figures but in my observation i have seen both kind of women who are not affected by pregnancy and those who are.

IMO if a woman tends to gain waight, then she will gain it after pregnancy. normally it is quite possible to get back into shape.

Not yet.

but why not try to gather some info for future.:gizzy:

I'm sure those ladies don't have to take care of their babies and have enough time to get back in shape...it's not same with desi women you know...

It's one thing I'll be worried about after getting married because guys now a days are more picky and they aren't very practical. I'm slim and fit now but I don't know how my body will turn out after giving birth. I know it's extremely hard for desi women work out and stuff because they also need to give time to their babies. Well I HOPE my husband won't be too hard with me on this but I'll do my best to get back in shape!

i personally think women should not worry about stretch marks, their men should understand why they are there at the first place and and if men dont like it, then dont make us pregnant....

**Dear Code_Red

AS far as the Figure is concern.... As per my observation... Women can gain her shape back if she want to.

Now the Breast Feeding...
Normaly Women here BreastFeed with Pulling Breast down from Shirt..Its Bad for Shape.
If they Wear some Shirt Having Buttons on it.. and they Dont pull it down. It can help to maintain the same shape.**

My 25 year old friend had a baby 2 weeks back and i swear she had the baby at 5am and was trying to get out of hospital at 1pm…finally made it out at like 4/5pm and her stomach had largely deflated…and her figure was pretty much as it was before the kid..

And then i have seen women who have ate for two..put on lots of weight..and then not exercised after the kid and kept stomachs forever.

So i guess depends naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :flower1: And no one can shout at me for writing silly answers today cuz its my bday and god im gona abuse it :snooty:
