What are views on simply beheading prisoners though? Some countries like Saudi Arabia and autonomous tribal regions across the world hold public executions as a detterent punishment which I can sort of agree with, and I understand that beheading prisoners during war as a last resort is often a better option than letting them starve or risk jepoerdazing the cause of resistance but is it still acceptable to most people?

Well if the prisoner is convicted for murder by a court of law, and the victim’s family does not accept blood money, I don’t see anything wrong with it. Beheading is a better way of execution than hanging or the electric chair.
