There seems to be a difference in various terrorist groups, some have genuine grievances and fight for a cause using the best methods they can, others seem to be intent on commiting acts of murder and violent agression without any obvious objective…
Both are collectively bunched together by popular culture however I think we need to look at things more closely becuase all is not as it meets the eye.
I think few groups apart form totall nutjobs like the TTP, Taliban, Shamil besayeves sytle Chechen Warlords take things too far, groups like Hezbollah have come a long way though from small scale terrorists to national resistance forces.
