Have you ever...

… called in sick just to get the day off from work? :@: Please share some of your “sick statements” or excuses!

Re: Have you ever...

Use to do it in School and College days :@:

Re: Have you ever…

Yup many times - But ended up actually being sick later :bummer: .. Allah miyan doesnt like me lying!

Re: Have you ever…

What used to be your excuse? Did you fake sick at work? Did you complain about fake symptoms a day before you planned on calling in sick? Did you ever raise suspicion? :khumar:

Re: Have you ever…

Yup fake sick is what i am talking about. Have tried it many times but usually actually got sick that day. And yes ive also tried fake symptoms. Nobody really found out

Re: Have you ever…

Go you!! :smooth:

Unfortunately, in college we couldn’t call in sick beause we then had to present a doctor’s note when we returned … so people used to come up with non-health related excuses like “I missed the bus, couldn’t afford to take a taxi”… “My car wouldn’t start”… “I was at a someone’s wedding/funeral/christening/etc”… “Oops I slept in, my alarm is broken”… A friend of mine used to miss all Monday morning lectures because he used to be hungover from the previous night… when one of the lecturers confronted him, he didn’t give any excuses at all and replied honestly … “well, ye told us we’ll be sent home if we came ta college in an intoxicated state so I might as well just stay at home meself…” :rotfl:

Re: Have you ever…

I never really took a whole day off faking sick. But in my morning lectures I would usually text one of my friends that not feeling well, feverish, attendence lage to mark ker laina :stuck_out_tongue:

But our ward hours were usually tough. It was hard to play sick there because mostly it ended up in us missing some very important lectures or rounds. So mostly I would skip the lectures wake up at 10 in the morning and then rush of to the wards :hehe:

Re: Have you ever...

Obviously.... I do...Why should I not avail 10 sick leaves in a year as per company's policy.

Re: Have you ever…

No. never

My company allows 2 months vacation with pay every year; including one month with double pay ( LFA ).

Why should I lie :hmmm:

Re: Have you ever...

Barbque, if you are trying to find a reason to get away from your job at GS then you don't have to find a fake reason. Just tell them you don't want to do it anymore.

Regarding my fake reasons, I have reported all kinds of fake infections. Sometimes I am about to get deaf due to a dangerous ear infection or my nose is about to fall off due to sneezing. Actually sneezing is the most scary part for bosses and they happily tell me to stay at home just out of fear of catching my infection :)

Re: Have you ever...

I remember my assistant.

Re: Have you ever...

i don't have to lie to make phony excuses...alHamdolillah, i've the freedom to stay home whenever i desire but this freedom comes with a responsibility obviously. i hardly stay home without a good reason and even if i do, i work from home rather :)

Re: Have you ever...

Well I once mixed some Paint for someone a long time ago... mixing car paint is harder than you think getting the colour just right takes ages... well only a few minutes to scan the formula on a PC but back then we also had to manually mix the thinners and stuff.... anyway while mixing the paint I got high on fumes so I decided to skip work and watch a movie with my friends I called my second job to say I was unable to come in... :)

Re: Have you ever...

I've only done that twice. One of those times was because I had a job interview at another place....which I thought was a better opportunity. And although I had been hired ...I hadn't signed the contract....so I made up the sick excuse to be at the other place for my interview.

Re: Have you ever…

I killed someone without his knowledge once! :bummer:

Re: Have you ever...

Many times, Usually I get fever, back pains and couple of time I even fell of the staires and no nobody ever suspected :@:

First year of my uni I was ALWAYS late and usual excuses were traffic jams and late trains....

Re: Have you ever...

I once put my fingers down my throat in the staff toilets (in order to ulti) just cos I didnt want to be working in that section on that particular day (I was 19 and my stalkee was working in a different section, it was very traumatic). I apparently 'turned pale' and was sent home.

Had to be taken to A&E in the evening due to high temp where the doctor claimed I had meningitis (he made me take my jeans off to check my legs, the perv!). I lived with my aunt and uncle at the time and my uncle was sweating buckets cos he thought he would have to tell my dad that I was going to die.

Moral of the story - do not stick your fingers down your throat in order to do ulti.
