Because many religions make the claim that they have a message from God for all mankind. This is why all claims must be treated equally. All religions must be held in the same regard for their claims. They are about the unseen so one is not better than all others.

Abolutely not. There is no requirement to treat them equally. You make it a requirement. If twenty people claimed to be you does that mean we all need to take their claims equally?
