Is it really necessary to state that a negative can’t be proven? One doesn’t believe everything else that can’t be proven on the assumption that there is a 50 percent chance of it being true. Why should it be okay for religion?

Absolutely. I feel the same way about Centaurs, harpies and golems.

And yes it is necessary to state a negative can’t be proven. I guess you never heard of the scientific method.
