Have you ever felt the fear...

This is probably where I disagree with you. This statement that is very profound in its implications. When you are acknowledging new rulings in Islam you basically talking about new commands and prohibitions. This very expanse of jurisprudence has made Islam alien to the common masses and more of a scholars religion with them in full control of how people should act and behave and what to think and what not. I think jurisprudence should stop at guidance and recommendations instead of commands and prohibitions. The commands and prohibitions are clearly spelled for us in Quran and Sunnah. After that no jurisprudence or laws that even the greatest of scholars may come up with are absolutes or parallel to the commands and prohibitions in the Quran and Sunnah.
