I think he's not worthy of your friendship, if he's being unfriendly towards you just because you didn't want to marry him. He's not worth it, if he stops talking to you just because of that. Sure, it hurts, but it's not your fault that you don't love him. And what's wrong with just being friends instead of lovers? If he really did love you, he would respect your decision and he wouldn't be unkind because of that. He would care more about your happiness than his own, and in that case he would say to himself something like, 'she doesn't love me, so she wouldn't be happy marrying me anyway, it's a pity for me, but I hope she'll find someone she liked and who will be a nice guy'. When you love someone, the happiness of that beloved one is more important to you than your own happiness.
