Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

**Five centuries **in this cricket season alone but none more important than today’s. It was innings of the highest calibre, innings of a player who has come out of the shadows of Rashid Latif / Moin Khan and by what leaps and bounds. Three centures against High profile England attack and today his innings was calculated counter attack which brought Pakistan back into the match.

His innings against India in Mohali has been matched by this one and if Pakistan manages to win this match, Kamran Akmal should take all the accolades. He is not eye catching or hard hitting as Gilchrist or Dhoni but he thinks and plays like a proper batsman. After his initial hiccups, he has learnt to be an international cricketer by realizing his potential.

He is no slouch behind the wicket either. Yes he misses chances here and there but he is a lot better, more athletic and agile than the likes of Gilchrist, Sangakrra and Boucher (and ofcourse Dhoni). Plus he has age on his side.

Today was Kamran Akmal’s day for sure. And rest assured, coming years will be Kamran Akmal’s (the way he is performing). Watch out cricketing world!!!

:salute:

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

Couldn't have said it better myself. The way he paced his innings, throughouly and peacefully, it was a sight for sore eyes. A brilliant knock, one of the finest under an enormous amount of pressure, will definitely be remembered for centuries to come.

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

Geoffrey Boycott is praising him to no end. He says that this young player shows that age has no barriers. When Gilchrist came onto the scene, he was matured age wise but Kamran was just a newbie thrown at the deep end and look how he made himself one of the most vital cogs in this team. He was not even liked by Woolmer initially but he worked hard and performed to earn a permanent place.

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

one day he will be the best

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan’s new Crisis man

:salute: to our lil hero. :jhanda:

The good thing is that we have after some time a dependable wicket keeper batsman. His current form clearly shows his class. I am very sure that he will break Moin Khan records pretty soon in his career.

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

he'll surely be the best wicketkeeper/batsman pak ever had

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

he already is one of the bests.

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

He is definitely one of the best wicketkeeper batsmen going around in world cricket right now--up there with Gilchrist....

Pakistan has atleast had a few keeper batsmen like Moin/Rashid Latif....but the indian keepers have been useless batsmen.....Dhoni has breathed in new life in the Indian team with his agressive batting style and confidence. He may not be as compact in technique as Akmal but definitely has the right intent....

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan’s new Crisis man

Superb performance and definitely some fantastic batting by him. Really showed how mature and sensible he is and definitely a crisis man for Pakistan. At the moment, he is indispensable. I’m sure he’ll only get better with time.

It was really a treat to watch his innings to take Pakistan from 36/6 to over 200. Brilliant stuff. :k:

eeeeeeeeeeeeee

asif ///////// the best

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

dhoni is no good in wicket keeping, kartik was better

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

Really hats off to him, he has played wonderfully in extremely pressure situations and saved our behinds! Of course he is a human being and cannot save us 100% of times, but then who can perform 100% times when needed! Simply brilliant keeper/batsman. His keeping was shade lower than Moin in earlier stage but now keeping has gone up too! Best of luck to him, I hope he doesn't take his position for granted and keeps up the hardwork!

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

lets not bash other keepers just because we have one good keeper :)

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan’s new Crisis man

Kamran Akmal played an inng of guts and grits. Pakistan has been blessed with great wicket-keepers in the past but this kid is special. He shines and shines big expecially when we need him. The compusure, calm and equanimity that he showed through out the inngs is one to be remembered for a long time. All praise to him, he is the best. :jhanda:

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

Don't glorify him after (it is not over yet) just one match... he needs to prove himself.

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan’s new Crisis man

Oh okay. five hundred in this season alone. 7 International hundreds in past year. A match saving knock at mohali and you still want him to prove himself???

Oh God! Its surely hard to please everybody.

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

I hope ppl stick with him when he may pass through less fortunate days (Allah Karey aisa waqt na hi a'ay) in his career

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

^ nicely put :). Thats what we usually dont do.

Re: Hats off Kamran Akmal.. Pakistan's new Crisis man

What a humble man he is... I saw his interview with Ramiz (thanks to ASN) ; he only praised others, mainly inzi, woolmer and mushy... I am soo proud of having such guys in our team, these guys r perfect role models for all of us who play cricket. He is a true gem. At the time when it was hard to breath for us Pakistanis, he stood up like a man and delivered one of the most valuable knocks of his life.

It is more than just another test for us. We have a terrific record in Karachi, we are playing against India in a decisive match, we r playing where crowd is arguably the best in the nation, if not the world, and we really don't want to lose two test series @ home against India.

This inning of our Kami was simply outstanding. He was in peace throughout and played 'positive'. Really, hats off to Kamran Akmal. :Salute:
