Because in the end it is not sports which will help you on the Day of Judgement, it will be your religion and faith. From what you said it looks like a sports person in the field is not a Muslim and he/she is allowed to do haram things? But, in my opinion a Muslim should be a full time Muslim not a part time Muslim.
you cannot go to a strip club and claim you dont drink cuz of the religious beliefs..
when you sign up for this game then you know the rules, they dont surprise you at the last moment.
companies dont pay players to play the game, they pay them to put their logos on. players who dont display the logos should not be taking money either cuz they are not fulfilling their commitments.
now having said that i believe that displaying the logo on your shirt should be your choice. but complying with the rules should be your duty too. one should not sign up for any commitment they cannot fulfill to begin with.
