Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

what if the cricket league owners wont hire Muslims because they dont generate revenue. will you guys say its fine and noble thing or you gonna say that it is racism and stuff..
simple as it gets... you play with your own will and you know the rules... if you dont like it then dont play at all... no one is gonna come to your home and drag you to cricket ground...

sports doesn't interfere with religion so why should religion interfere with sports..

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

this is why Pakistan was created, somewhere where subcontinental Muslims could play cricket without having to deal with these issues.

all this does is validates the reasons for why partition was so necessary

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

maybe other religions dont have anything to do with sports, but Islam has rules for everything; even sports....

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

.....got your point and belief ......

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

Then please understand that the cricketers who play for the country are allowing their pictures to be telecast live across the world. Isnt that also not right according to Islam. Why only selective following of the rules when it suits you. Or is that also a part of the rules...

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

Now you are telling me that Pakistan was created so that muslims could play cricket without their pictures being taken, not getting sponsorships from alcohol companies etc.

You really need to get a life...

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

Because in the end it is not sports which will help you on the Day of Judgement, it will be your religion and faith.
From what you said it looks like a sports person in the field is not a Muslim and he/she is allowed to do haram things? But, in my opinion a Muslim should be a full time Muslim not a part time Muslim.

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

so lets here it from you. what is islams view on sports according to you.

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

ha ha.. this is the best excuse for creating Pakistan.:D

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

Amla is the best muslim cricketor after Yousuf. He takes budlight (assuming that all others are heavy drinkers)

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

you cannot go to a strip club and claim you dont drink cuz of the religious beliefs..
when you sign up for this game then you know the rules, they dont surprise you at the last moment.

companies dont pay players to play the game, they pay them to put their logos on. players who dont display the logos should not be taking money either cuz they are not fulfilling their commitments.

now having said that i believe that displaying the logo on your shirt should be your choice. but complying with the rules should be your duty too. one should not sign up for any commitment they cannot fulfill to begin with.

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

i was gonna say something but it will seem to be an insult to the Islam so i will just let you say this...

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

Easy my friend.. that was really not appropriate. There are other ways to convey your point but not this way.I think you should apologize.

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

The thread was started why don't other players follow Amla and before signing up any contract they should put up their conditions too.
This only happens when someone feels that he/she is not competent for this particular job and if they put up their conditions they may not get the contract.

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

how about weed?

Re: Hashim Amla vs Muslim Cricketers of IPL

PCB on sticky wicket for allowing Misbah to play in RCB

Karachi, May 5 (PTI) The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in a fix after allowing Misbah-ul-Haq to play for liquor baron Vijay Mallya-owned Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL as it is in conflict with its policy of discouraging players from associating themselves with alcohol brands.

Mallya owns the United Breweries group, manufacturers of leading alcohol brands in India, and Royal Challenge happens to be the name of a leading spirit brand of the UB group.

PCB CEO Shafqat Naghmi said the board does not encourage its players to promote or endorse alcohol and tobacco products.

“Players usually take prior clearance for endorsing or starring in any brand commercials. I am not sure whether Misbah has taken permission for the Royal Challengers and I am also not sure whether he is required to wear or market any brand of the UB group,” Naghmi said.

“But yes we do discourage our players from even sporting logos promoting alcohol or tobacco products,” he admitted.

Naghmi said the board would look into the matter.

Alcohol consumption is against the tenets of Islam and banned in Pakistan. Even tobacco advertising on television and in sports was banned by the government a few years ago.

To complicate matters, the Indian health minister Anbumani Ramadoss recently said the Bangalore team’s name amounted to surrogate advertising and promoted alcohol. PTI

Pakistan Concerned With Misbah Ties

The Pakistan Cricket Board have voiced their concern over Misbah-ul-Haq's association with the Royal Challengers Indian Premier League team.

Royal Challengers is a spirit brand of the Vijay Mallya-owned United Breweries (UB) group, who are the franchise owner of the Bangalore-based IPL team.

The PCB traditionally discourage their international players from associating themselves with alcohol brands, and admit Misbah's perceived endorsement of the brand is in breach of their guidelines.

PCB Chief Executive Officer Shafqat Naghmi told Times Now: "Players usually take prior clearance for endorsing or starring in any brand commercials.

"I am not sure whether Misbah has taken permission for the Royal Challengers and I am also not sure whether he is required to wear or market any brand of the UB group.

"But yes we do discourage our players from even sporting logos promoting alcohol or tobacco products."

There is a ban on alcohol consumption in Pakistan as it is forbidden under Islamic law.

The Pakistan government has also banned tobacco advertising on television and at sporting venues.
