Has anyone read a book by Mary Higgins Clark

i just read one and it was pretty good…i hadnt read a book in a long time so i went to the library and got a book by her…since i had no idea who writes good books i asked someone and she suggested a book by mary called Daddy’d Little girl. i just finished reading and it was pretty good

what are some of ur favorite books? i like mystery

Sheraz, a man afer my own heart! I looooooove mysteries! I have read all Agatha Christie novels and all of the Mary Higgins Clark novels as well. The best one of MHC is Where Are The Children. I liked this the best. Her daughter is a mystery writer too. If you like mysteries, also try books by Catherine Coulter and Dean Koontz. Happy reading!

I like mysteries and horror and stuff like that… havent read a book in a while…
for the one u just read… what was the story? don’t tell the whole thing…

^ i read some of Dean Koontz’ books… :k:

thanks moona :) i will check out the books by these authors too..what did u think of daddys little girl? my problem is that i get bored really fast but this book kept me busy reading...reading used to be my bigggest hobby and i read this book after soo long but it was cool

tips lets see..this was a story of a girl..her sister was killed at age 15 and she was 7 at the time...she testified against the so called bf and he got 23 yrs for that...so after 23 yrs she has become an investigative journalist and she wants to keep that man behind bars..but did he really commit this crime, or was it someone else? read it you will like it

^ Thanks… i’ll pick it up as soon as i get time…
:k:

i want to know of a book where a murder happens on a train...does anyone know? i really want it but now i have forgotten the name..

Is it this one "Murder on the Orient Express" ?......... :)

Sheraz, are you perhaps referring to Murder On The Orient Express by Agatha Christie. It is an excellent murder mystery and the stroy happens on a trian. Read it if you get a chance. :smokin2:

I don't know who this Mary Higgins is, but she's singing the praises of a book by Dean Koontz called Strangers which I've been trying to finish for the last 6 months. I read two pages, get bored and then it stays on the shelf for another month.

Fiction is sooooo pedestrian

thanks batameez, mona ..thats the one..i will get it today

extreme if you read few more pages then you might get into it..usually all the stories/movies are boring in the beginning but once you get into it you wont be able to put it down

Sheraz,

I'm not talking about Mary Higgins book, I'm talking about a book by Dean Koontz called Strangers. Mary Higgins recommended it describing it as " a unique spellbinder that captures the reader on the first page..."

Well I'm halfway through but I can't get really get into it.

i knew you were talking bout diane koontz book but i didnt think u had read half of it..well it you are still not into it then forge this book..read murder on orient express cuz i read some really good reviews of that book..if u dont even like that then i suggest a different hobby..maybe fishing? :)

fishing… lol! I tried that once as well but the fish were too smart so i just ate the food and went home after an hour :hehe:

Sheraz, dude, it’s DEAN Koontz, not Diane Koontz! Stephen King is great with horror a well as Ann Rice who’s Interview With The Vampire and The Vampire Chronicles rock! Another good sci-fi/horror author is Clive Barker.

thanks for the sweet kiss moona :)
dean diana..same thing na? i dont raelly like horror/sci fi..i like detective mysteries..adventurous..have you read any of the indiana jones books? tell me ur favorite mystery book..the reason i liked mary higgins is because u dont have to have masters in english to actually understand it :)

Did anybody ever read that Stehen King book Insomnia? The bad guys were these midget knee-high bald surgeons with rusty scalpels.

What the hell was he on when he thought that up?

Any Grisham fan here?

John Grisham is ok...too much court drama and the like with that one! I like Michael Crichton though. His stuff's pretty good. Also, if anyone likes to read romance novels, some of the best authors in that genre are Sidney Sheldon, Danielle Steele, Barbara Taylor Bradford, and Jude Devereaux. My fave id Danielle Steele though, Barbara Taylor Bradford comes in at a close 2nd.

I have read a few Grisham, but he rambles on and on into deep legalese and usually on morbid topics like death row inmates and stuff. Plus he doesn't follow the cardinal rule of good story-telling ("A happy ending"). He should get some lessons from Sidney Sheldon et al. Some of his work is really good though.

For the last few months, I am mid-way through the Matarese Countdown by Ludlum. About the only time I read it is on the aeroplanes to pass the time. Its probably good, but there are just so many other things to do than to finish it off.. probably on one of these weekends.
