My FB account has been hacked. I tried logging into my account earlier today but my password isn’t recognized. Good thing my email was still secure, and I was able to change my FB password. I’m so sure it was hacked, and that I didn’t just forget my password because I “liked” some pages but it wasn’t me. I have no idea who did it, and why they would be interested in gaining access to my account, but I am definitely worried because it could happen again. Any suggestions on how to prevent hacking? Thanks.

Hi! You’re lucky you were able to gain access again by changing your password. A friend of mine came across the same issue a few years back, and despite her contacting FB, she was still unable to get into her profile. FB claimed they were still “investigating” and asked her to send a copy of her Canadian ID, which was very odd. In the end she ended up just creating a new FB profile and was able to save images she posted on her old account since it wasn’t private. FB never got back to her… It would’ve been worse if she had sent in a copy of her ID and had become a victim of Identity theft.

Put up a firewall, and have numbers and letters in your password. That’s all you need really. Most the time people get hacked cause they don’t have a firewall, use easy passwords or they are using a public computer and leave there password saved on the pc, or it already has a keylogger on it so it’s easy to retrieve the information. It’s obviously someone you know if all they did was like other peoples posts.

Lol, I doubt FB would ever ask for that. I dunno who she emailed but it probably wasn’t fb.

I have no idea. Maybe she was on a fake fb page lol or maybe they do actually do that.
FB is definitely for the baah baah people of earth (+attention seekers + stalkers) just like iphone

Why don’t you set up login approvals? That way even if hacker knows your password it will be very difficult for him to access your account unless you have that browser saved or he has your phone lol

Yes, that would work. “Bach gayi or bach gaya” can be used in multiple ways. If you had a narrow escape from some accident or trouble, it would be right to say “Main bach gaya.” If there is some left over ice cream, you can say “Thori si ice-cream bach gayi hai”…or …“Thora sa salan bach gaya hai.”

I’ve also heard of FB asking for IDs and thought it was bogus until I tried to prank my cousin… I managed to figure out his fb and email passwords/ security questions. I changed everything! :evil laugh and such:
Well, he somehow got in contact with FB, scanned and supplied his ID to prove he was the real owner of the profile and gained access again 
No fun!

That’s really worrying, as if they don’t have enough information stored on you anyway they also want your passport details. It’s even more amazing that people are dumb enough to actually provide it.

Oh sorry, my ID I meant state issued photo ID, not passport.
But yeah, I agree. No privacy or security.

Even state issued ID is personal and shouldn’t be copied and sent a internet site. When I used to have a FB account, everything about me was fake, including my name. The day someone gets access to FBs database is the day the world will truly find out how scary the internet really is, google already provides a somewhat viable information portal for stalkers and information gainers.

Oh, no. I absolutely agree! I was just saying that it is something they ask for if you want access to your page if it’s been “compromised”.
Fb is scary on its own, but it’s making the world we live in super scary!! Everyone feels the need to post every little detail about themselves, their location, etc… Giving everyone access to everything!! Making serial killers’ jobs so much easier!
