I get what you’re saying, FB just irks me and it’s pretty silly for them to ask for that, what ever happened to the security questions etc? Meh. Why can’t you just hold a picture holding a sign and your face, surely that would be sufficient?
Yeah I agree, people seem to reveal way to much information about themselfs on fb and twitter. I don’t get it personally unless it’s just attention seeking at it’s highest. I used to like myspace, it was simple and there was none of this crap. Anyway, fb is a identity timebomb waiting to explode.
MYSPACE!!! lol… wow! I loved my myspace. It was all decked out, and I thought I was so cool because I could code my own background and fonts. And then the other kiddos used the profile generators and had super bligged out profiles <my slightly jealous face.
Yeah. I gave FB a try in high school, it was cool. College it became a place to share pictures and have political or stupid debates via status updates. And then came the “lol, just burped!”, “omg I just hate the best burger at xyz restaurant - with [insert friend’s name here]”. I don’t have the time or the care to know about what anyone is doing via fb. If I care, i’ll text/ whatsapp/ call you
My absolute fav is the people who add anyone and everyone, and then post a status like “Time for bed! - at home” with home tagged… not realizing they just showed everyone their home’s exact locating. :k:
Myspace was awesome innit? Exactly lol, I used to love making my own wallpaper and designing it how I wanted it. My page was wicked. It was so much fun, I remember this music artist asking me to help him custom his page, that was pretty cool. I used to lols at the generators. The friend trains were even more amusing.
Yeah I agree, if there’s anything to say there are text apps which are better or if you have the persons phone number. I’m pretty happy I no longer use fb. Lol, do people actually tag their own home with it’s location to strangers? Lmao!
FB does ask for ID verification if they find out the person’s name is fake. (Usually it happens if your nemesis reports you). I know someone who had to send some ID to get their account open. They sent in a library card or something lol! It worked.
And I can’t open my facebook in a new browser without having to input the facebook code that’s smsed to my phone. I get emails and info about any attempts to open my account. I think someone did try once and I got a datestamp, location, etc.
You guys haven’t been adventurous enough on Facebook to be banned have you?
If you have a objectionable page people can report you and kill off both profile and page. Someone can even report your profile for not having a real name.
And, no, twiddling your thumbs isn’t going to bring your Facebook page back like you guys seem to want to do.
How adventurous could one be on facebook? I bet I could get banned in minutes if I wanted to. As I already stated, I always used a fake name, guess that’s what you’d call “adventurous”. I think it’s more adventurous not conforming to society and being one of those sheep that actually have a FB. When I had facebook, myspace was more popular and I deleted it when myspace was still popular, that’s how long ago it was.
Thinking one is above Facebook usage is kind of cliché these days.
But we’re getting off topic. Ultimately Facebook can ban you and ask you for Id to reinstate the Facebook page. If your Facebook is fine then it’s a dumbass move to communicate with someone phishing you.
I am not on facebook and don’t intend to be. Even if I want to, it wont be under my real name and I certainly will not send them any form of id. Don’t tell me you need to use a real name to sign up for fb either, coz I know a guy who once signed up with the last name pajama, and first name phata.
Wow this thread definitely got hijacked lol…But yeah I probably will get some type of firewall or something. Have any of you used Squid Proxies for pc protection? I’m thinking about trying it out.
