Aatif Miyan - I am sure you have not listened to the Indian/Pakistani Music at all.
As Far as Hard Rock is concerned - It is SAR DARD.

and I am sure you have not listened to Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Cream, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana, Who, Lynyrd Skynyrd, RHCP, Doors, Bruce Springsteen, Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Eagles and Rolling Stones!

'Scuse me while I kiss the sky

Don't know if I'm comin' up or down
Am I happy or in misery?

WOW!
So many hard rock fans! :k:
Linkin Park is no where close to being a hard rock band, they try but they are just like Limp Bizkit.
I mostly listen to Disturbed, Mettalica, System, Rage, none of the old 80s hard rock.
Jimi Hendrix rules .. MY FAV GUITARIST .. no one can ever play guitar like him!!! :k::k: I wish hendrix lived longer .. his 4 years of music is gona live till eternity!!
over-rated??? u must be kidding me dude!! He is the guitar god! you give me one name from the late 60’s that lived upto Hendrix!! No one! He was the best at his time and still is! Maybe Keith Richards of Rolling Stones or Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac fame) can be compared, but they definitely dont beat the guitar king - Hendrix!
Jimmy Page (Led Zepplin), Eric Clapton, George Harrison (Beatles), Neil Young and Pete Townshend (The Who) are my favs. From the 90’s I think Tom Morello of RATM rules :k:

You are correct. He was quite innovative for his time, but I prefer Jimmy Page over Hendrix in that era. But Hendrix really couldn't compare to the loads of guitarists that were coming out about 10-15 years later. I still love Hendrix though.
Wow! you are pretty old it seems. My first concert was of Peal Jam in 95 at Seattle! I was 14 then (prolly the youngest at the concert)!
edited: Did you go for any Bruce Springsteen concert in the 80's??
[/QUOTE]
Actually I'm 28 (getting old :) ). I've seen tons of metal concerts in the 80's, but I was never a Springsteen fan, mind you he had some good tunes.
My first concert was Metallica's Master of Puppets tour in 1986, also in the 80's I saw Iron Maiden, Guns n' Roses, King Diamond, Slayer, Mercyful Fate, Megadeth, Alice Cooper, Anthrax, Kiss, Sabbath, WASP, and tons of other glam, rock, and hard rock bands (Poison, Warrant, Cinderella) and others I can't remember right now LOL. I've seen much of these same bands in the 90's (except for Metallica, since I can't stand them now), and continue to see some of these same bands in the 2000's lol. I love music and concerts, but the feeling was so much different in the 80's. I think the internet ruined music in many ways.
Its not completely true with the internet. I think today's concerts are full of moshing, crowd surfing, and with no music at all! Back in the days, it was fun to go to a concert, enjoy the music and watch your fav band play live!

Well the moshing was still going on back in the 80's as well, in the height of "Thrash Metal"'s popularity, although it started with punk music way before that. What I mean when I say that it's different in today's time, is that information is so accessible nowdays because of the internet. Back then, if you wanted to know about a band, you had to buy a magazine, or watch music tv. If you wanted to hear a band, you had to go and buy the record (or get a friend to copy it for you). If you wanted to see a band, you had to go to a concert. Now all that can be done through the convieniencey of the internet by going on official sites, and downloading pirated music and live rare footage, and concerts from just about every city they played. The mystique of seeing and hearing a band is gone nowdays because of this technology.

The last time I saw Ozzfest was in 96 with Sepultura and Danzig. The first time I saw Ozzy however was in 86 for the "Ultimate Sin" world tour. Great show! Ozzfest in 96 was cool also. Ozzy's getting way too tired for this though, I doubt he'll be doing this very much longer.
Hey dude thanks. Yeah, this was a great thread, it’s good to see it back up again What’s new? not much really, just been on an Iron Maiden listening spree nowdays. Waiting for their new followup to Brave New World. Can’t wait to see them again. What are you listening to nowdays?
