i would though, as a side note, like to add something here. also as a reply to Sara516 being unsure of whether pot is haram.
so what is haram? a woman showing her hair? someone drinking? having pre-marital sex? i think as a society we have really an exaggerated version of what qualifies as haram. haram associated with gender also seems as one big blob, and we may be biased about it. and of course the unchallengeable sins, a.k.a premarital sex.
but i see it a bit further than this. anything that is basically hurting you as a human being, hurting your body, hurting the society around you ... then it is haram.
let's take alcohol as an example. why is it haram? it's the reason that it acts as an unnatural and harmful pacifier and takes you away from your conscious self, and hinders your positive decision making abilites. we would all also agree that a sip of alcohol does none of that. yet it is still haram?
under the same criteria, i would say smoking is also haram. it's the "addiction" that God is trying to point out. nasha can be from tangible or intangible things. smoking and drinking falls under tangible. but intagible things like getting too used to a surrounding. not being able to cope with change (forced or voluntary). getting too attached with someone. so much that YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO THINK FROM A THIRD PERSPECTIVE. and teenage love (well, any irrational love) falls in the same category, and thus, is haram.
so basically, we are doing a lot more haram acts than just drinking or fooling around. it's another thing if we choose to overlook it.
and to men. so many of you smoke. SO SO SOOOOOOOO MANY OF YOU. and then you dont think of it as haram, while you are eager to point out what haram acts women like to do ... is a bit .. yeah ... u get the point.

farrah. I am forever surprised at how jealous pakistani men seem to be of women (on this forum at least). I am not consequentially, surprised at Pathaani predilections. At least they are honest.

look around you here in life1. Its always women trying to nuterlize haram with some being social nonsense.
I don't give a damn what ppl do in their lives. Every one has right to do stuff they want as long as its not harming other ppl.
See when a guy like my self engage in a haram activity, he does is recognize it as haram. And think low about the deed.
how ever sistas have this thing as long as its "ok" and "acceptable"
and it wont hurt their fairy like image, in their own heads and in society, they wont give a damn about haram or what not.
