This is a serious thought provoking thread:
Today is Valentines day. We celebrate today by giving out cards, candies, gifts and love to our loved ones. Lets not forget the great nation U.S.A. Today the world should thank U.S for all the good things that we as a nation do for the world. The thankless world in turn gives us more gripes,taunts, sarcasm, and thanklessness, none of which St Valentine had in mind. So I propose that today we all take a moment and say our thanks to this great nation.
Here is the reasoning of why the world should thank us. U.S itself consists of hard working immigrants such as myself that are denied rights in their own countries. People come to U.S to make a better person of themselves. That does not mean that they hate their respective countries. Now when they see attrocities being commited in their respectvie countries they urge their senators and congressmen to take action. U.S has to listen to its constituents and thus engages and intervenes in other countries. Now people that are used to suppressing other minorities in their countires don’t like that, but they fail to understand that it is not U.S but their own countrymen that are in actuality working towards a better safer world, using U.S to derive their points home. That is why people think that U.S is intervening but it is the migrants that want U.S to intervene.
I would like to say my thanks to Barry P. Smith a visiting Scholar from Ireland that helped me understand the immigrant pushing policies part. **He is currently visiting a NY based US think tank. He is working on U.S Policy and Counter Terrorism in the post 9/11 world. **
Muslims already pray 3 to 5 times a day. They should say another prayer for U.S thanking Allah that he created U.S.
Chritsians, Jews, Sikhs,Hindus,Buddhists etc should all go to their favorite temple and say a prayer of “I Love U.S”.
Atheists are easy they can just say thanks.

Sure if you'd like to, but Bin la-deen doesn't like St Valentine or any thing that resembles Love and Affection. He stands for violence and aggression. You should know that ,no flip flopping here on that topic.

appreciation of what? chocolates and roses, some booty ? you can appreciate all that in any other country as well. I saw on TV that some lady in Saudia sent roses to her hubby for v-day.

As subjective as the universal truth is, im no gonna refute it. As mr flip flop, you know well where the problem lies. Im not a citizen so its not the internal policies that are affecting me hence ive no view on the matter.
US sincerity and friendliness to the world is just as fake as this occasion of Valentine’s Day itself which is actually not Christian but a Pagan holiday.

Tsunami happened we were the first ones there, Earth Quakes, Floods natural disasters U.S leads the way, Saddam suppresses people we come to liberate the people. WWII wecome to the resue...... I can go on and on. but all this we do and what do we get. "These Americans" rhetoric.

AS I disagree, you would read my immigrant portion again. I am not talking about a pagan ritual here which btw the saudi arabian have embraced as well. It's about immigrants and their will to see their homelands rid of tyranny and opression.
MCI has better corporate accounts, Sprint is not that big as we thought, plus the Brd of Directors started nickel and diming even before we made an offer. MCI is good, now Mike Capellas can go back to HP since Carly got the boot. Plus MCI needed wireless communication that they lacked. It was marriage made in heavan.

An advent of captialism used to illicit alot of money from idiots for a story that is completely made up as Saint Valentines story was not one of romance. Rather quite sad, pathetic and disturbing.
