Wherever you are, whether in Pakistan or outside, be grateful to have a identity associated with this beautiful piece of land, and to all the people who sacrificed their lives for us, our past and future generations. Lets be very very thankful to all of them.
Lets forget any differences today and celebrate this day as one of the best days of our lives
yes happy independence Pakistan. I am happy that the partition happened and in the end it was the right political decision by Jinnah
but to say we got Pakistan after many sacrifices is wrong. absolutely wrong. no one willingly sacrificed his life for Pakistan but it was forced murder of innocent people from both sides due to ineffective, callous and selfish leadership from muslim league, congress, and brits.
had the borders separated after proper study and under security forces 12 months later in June or july 1948 as originally planned, we would have seen less migration and far fewer murders. but a sudden change in plans and uninformed speedy border delineation by radcliff resulted in enforced migration of over 15 million people and close to 1 million murders.
and these were cold murders, not sacrifices. my family migrated from Amritsar and Jalandhar. they never wanted to migrate but they did not have a choice. they lost some family members too and for me, those poor souls got murdered against their will and they did not sacrifice their lives.
plus if we call these murders sacrifices, what about over 500K innocent hindus and sikhs which muslims killed mercilessly? were those also sacrifices? but hey, those innocent hindus and sikhs did not even want partition. so obviously they did not sacrifice their lives for any purpose. they were brutally m murdered by msulims…and so were poor mulims who had no clue why are they packing overnight and leaving their villages. they did not sign up for such partition. Jinnah and nehru signed up for this with Mountbatten.
so the responsibility of this massacre, not sacrifices, lies on Mohammad Ali Jinnah, top Congress leadership especially Nehru (but not gandhi) and callous Mountbatten and unprepared Radcliff and other brits.
para tha mutale pakistan and that too under zia ul haq but also read history and religion from other sources too…so started to ask many questions upon which my family decided to throw me out of Pakistan to the US…
We all bashed this guy so much during Champions trophy. But respect him duly now for prevailing the harmony. I’m sure he is better than some Pakistanis criticizing their own founder day & night.
This national song was created in 1950’s. Can you find out what is wrong with this song? Pakistan ki tareekh ko mushk karnay main logon ne barha kamal kya hay. Even the national anthem approved by Quaid-e-Azam, played few years was replaced in 1950 because it was written by a Hindu
Give it a rest, at least today of all days. It is the past, your theories or discussion is not going to change anything. What happened is truly horrible but the lives were going to be lost no matter how the partition took place due to hatred in the so called “peaceful” India where everyone got together so well before the partition. (sarcasm) Best thing to do is not let their struggles go to waste.
well I am glad and thankful that partition happened (we lost the track after partition but that is a different debate) and today we are free in Pakistan but i do believe that we wrote the wrong history, we promoted the wrong history, and we taught the wrong history to our generations on both sides of the border…i can at least state the correct version on my side.
by any means, i am not downplaying those who lost their lives including my family members … i am actually crying for them but it is morally and historically wrong to portray Muslim deaths as if they were fighting for a certian cause in those fateful 3 months. those poor souls had no choice but to leave their homes and migrate suddenly out of nowhere. they did not sign up for such horrendous and ill-planned partition execution.
just go to youtube and see the interviews of survivors, read any text and you will find out that it was the poor execution of the partitions plan which forced such a massive genocide on both sides.
and like i said before, Muslim have at least the luxury to label their deaths as sacrifices to get their dreamland Pakistan, but what about those hundreds and thousands of innocent hindus and sikhs who were murdered and raped by Muslims? in which category to place deaths of those innocent hindus and sikhs who did not demand the partition and look at the price they paid, millions of rapes, deaths, blood.
woh kiss kay haat par apna lahoo talash karien? just a historical question. sorry for being a party-pooper but i don’t know when else to raise such questions.
The same producers who produced Indian movie ‘Jagriti’ in India, produced ‘Bedari’ in Pakistan with same story line and same music with change in lyrics. Both the songs 'aao bacho tumhe dikhaen jhanki dikhaen Pakistan ki ’ and ‘aao bachon ser karaen tuk Pakistan ki’ are real and early distortion of history through popular media. Indian version only covers Hindu history of India showing Marathas as heroes against Mughals.
Pakistan version’s part dealing with Sindh is ridiculous show of making looters heroes portraying MBQ as a preacher whose only aim was to convert people to Islam. lols. Punjab and Sarhad have been portrayed as land of warrior. The lyrics about ‘kafan bandhe Pathan’ are irony. May be the lyricist had a foresight how this area and its population (brought up under Bandooq) was going to be brainwashed and used in so called Jihads in future history.
Interestingly, there is no mention of Bengal in the song. So they had alienated East Pakistan as early as early 1950’s from popular media. The song does mention Kashmir (disputed area), but does not own East Pakistan / Bengal. Reminded me Habib Jalib’s shikwa regarding East Paksitan Vs Kashmir:
haseen ankhoan madhur geeton ke sundar des ko khokar
main hairaan hoon wo zikr e wadi e Kashmir karte hain.
Balochistan is also not mentioned in song, though movie was made in 1956 / 1957 (after accession of Qallat), but the ownership and status remained ambiguous in song. Probably, Balochistan as a province got more prominence after one-unit.
PS: You would enjoy, Indian version ‘sabarmati ke sant tune kar dia kamal’ for ‘Ae Quaid e Azam tera ihsan hai ihsan’:
