to all our hindu friends .. 
I want to extend my wishes but at the same time want to understand the significance of diwali and how/why it is celebrated ..
Like to invite all our hindu friends to help us (or me) understand.

Diwali or deepawali is ancient festivel of Hindus.Its celebrated as victory of good over evil.
Lord ram whose sons founded lahore and kasur arrived to his home after killing demon from sri lanka Ravana who had abducted his wife.. On that dayPeople of ayodhya celebrated with earthen pots lightning diye......... till this day its celebrated in memory of that day

I've noticed amongst my south and north indian friends that some celebrations/religious days are more in North indian then south .. like Karwaa chodh ..
is diwali equally significant across the indian land or is it religiously observed in one part than the other

Hamara tu jab bhi koi happy ocasion hota hai koi na koi molvi fatwa laga ke haraam kar detey hain.
Even koondey, where people make yummy food and invite friends and family and distribute among poors.
It all your fault. You hindus !! its all your bad influence on us pious muslims
