mere office main bhi kisi ko nahin pata tha. ek colleague jo mere fb pe add tha, usne Lunch garam karte huwe kitchen main happy birthday kaha… baqi poora din issi thread ki waja se ye ihsas raha ke aaj birthday hai..

hmm mine was pretty bad last year. There is a partner at my firm who loves giving sugar treats to everyone around holiday time or on staff birthdays. So, last year, in my birthday week there was another person’s birthday. As usual, he got a cake for everyone and sent out a mass email for everyone to know that it’s so and so’s birthday and we should wish her. Then a few days later, on MY birthday, no cake / no email. Just the few people who I’m friends with outside of work knew and wished me. One girl got me a cupcake but it was very low-key.
This partner and I don’t get along very well. So turns out he was holding a grudge for that.

Then after work, my best friend had made me organize a small, 10-people dinner party at a downtown restaurant. It rained that day and traffic was terrible. So, only 3 girls showed up and my best friend didn’t even make it. I was so upset. Agar khud aane ki zehmat nahi karni thi, tu why make me organize an outing in the first place. Normally, birthdays are spent quietly with family at home. So I was mad that I had told my mom not to make anything special and didn’t get to spend time with them.
