Except it is not a religious viewpoint. Where does it say in Islam that you can’t SOCIALIZE with the opposite sex? That you can’t court one another and that you can’t meet one another and discuss compatibility before marriage (definition of a date)?
If she meant specifically that you can’t shack up prior to marriage, or that you can’t get physical, that’s different. That’s not a date, though.
