Hang out place in Karachi?

I have a question for you all and I would like to hear what you have to say about this. Most girls in Pakistan can’t go out with their friends just to have fun. If you’re a boy you can do anything you want and go anywhere you want. But for a girl living in Karachi there’s just nothing to do (this is what I’ve seen while visiting my family members). Ok, you can go to the mall, to a restaurant or even to a bowling alley (which I think hasn’t been there very long), but you have to go there with your family members. I have never seen any of my cousins just hang out anywhere with a group of friends. One reason is that it just isn’t safe. But another very important reason is…there are just no facilities!

My point is: what do you think a city like Karachi needs, can you think of any hang-out place where young Pakistani public can go to just to have fun. Something that fits in the culture, that parents don’t have to be afraid to let their youngsters go there unsupervised?

karachi does lack such facilities. For a pop of 30 mil karachi needs more "fun places" ... shameful?... yes

Go to Bombay. It's near by

karachi : bombay
ducati 916 : village bicycle

did you ever take ur SATs?

Safety has always been a huge issue of the Pakistani culture; i don't think as such less facilities is the problem here. Even if we had more theme parks, cinemas or organization for social welfare etc, we need the assurance that these places are safe, enough intellect to realize that its okay and most of all we need people who can understand that such places are built for their entertainment /amusement and they should facilitate from them and take care of these places as well.

I think you can easily build something for the attraction of high classes of Karachi, plenty of security guards will be satisfying for them but helping the whole city in this case can be difficult.

Been there, done that...

Park towers: what else is there to do besides the usual shopping and eating...?
And seaview is always the same, we go there with a group of people and after 5 minutes everyone wants to go back again, it's soooo boring...

Actually my question wasn't what there is to do Karachi, I wanted to know, what is still missing? What does a young Pakistani public in Karachi need?

If your from the states, then forget it! But if your Pakistani born and bred there are a lot of fun things to do... Mabye your thinking on western lines.

However if your adventerous enough, why not come down to Lahore of Islamabad, we have a lot of secrete party places (Naughty Nights ) is one such place in gulberg! I am really a sad to hear you dont enjoy Karachi!

I was really used to London afterall i lived there for a very long time. But i love Karachi! Karachi Rocks!

If your looking for just simple outright fun, there is a skate-park in rawalpindi (you can go with frinends -Very safe enviroment) there is a night-club under the marriott in Islamabad you will need to book a place though!

The Bolwing alley's in Islamabad is always full of girls, and i dont know why you feel that girls in Pak dont have fun, where i live we have girls from Preston UNi, roaming around with their friends alone all the time... Its normal!

Have you been to All that Rocks , you'll love it!

Trust me Karachi aint boring, mabye your just hanging with a crowd that is boring, trust me on that one!!

i've heard of all those clubs and stuff like some place called 'equinox' ?? or something?? in khi...i heard abt it from ppl...and other night clubs...and things like that...theres a lot of places like that i guess...i keep hearing abt that karachi but i never seen it....basically i've heard you can find anything and everything in khi...

but i never tried nor r any of my family members or friends into that stuff....ive never been to these places and dont intend to either :D

one can also get membership of gymkhana or sindh club or some other club...these r not those types of clubs, but just places where u can have a good time, and they have sports courts n pools and regular social events n families r members...these r nice.....some of my friends r memebers of these, aand theres all sorts of activities going on there which one can also attend with family...

there's always concerts going on too for young folx and other activities like dramas and fashion shows n stuff in khi...then theres always exhibitions going on too...

i know ppl who r always going out to these things...but i'm more of a homebody plus most of my day is spent at work...so i'm not too much into this scene...and all our socialising is mostly within family, family friends...so i dont really know abt this stuff in detail...lekin maybe some khiite who is more socially active than me can fill u in?

It’s not that I don’t enjoy going to Karachi. I was born and raised in Europe, but most of my family still lives in Karachi. I spend most of my time with family, visiting other family members, shopping , things like that. But when I ask my cousins what they like to do in their free time, where they go hang out with friends, they tell me there’s just nowhere they can go to have fun. I admit, my family is a bit conservative, they think it’s dangerous for a group of girls to go somewhere on their own.

A skate park in Pakistan! Wow, never heard of it, love to go there sometime.

Whatever you do dont join the Lahore Gymkhana! The food is bad and the service aint what it use to be, i dont know about Karachi Gymkhana. But personally i love the Islamabad Club (Horse Riding) and the marina club (Khi) is the best place to be on a sunny afternoon!. :D

^ Karachi gymkhana is a cool place and so is karachi club (even the food is good enough :D )They regularly arrange mushaira, concerts, ghazal programmes and literary meetings.

Miss Alisha: If you want to enjoy skating in karachi, why not visit zamzama park, there is a nice enough skating area , along with a superb walking/jogging track.

I ran into the same problem when I was visiting Khi :) There were only shopping and eating places. But girls hanging out alone and going somewhere alone (unless it is a shopping mall) is a huge no no mainly cuz of safety concerns. Even if you went to the bowling alley or a skating rink, you would have to be accompanied by a bodyguard :D

I've also heard that people go to a 'farm' for picnics. Never tried it myself :)

Newest meetign point in Khi:

i havent been in khi for last 4 years but i can imagine that this place will be rocking atm
