Hamas and Fatah Killing One Another

Re: Hamas and Fatah Killing One Another

A welfare organization? Surely you jest. There is no better way to buy loyalty than to give poor people something. In Gaza and Lebanon these organizations undermined the legitimate government by setting up an autonomous support system of social support. What happens next is even more crucial. They demand support for their cause in return. They use the vulnerability of the desperately poor to buy their loyalty using largely foreign funds.

Now Fatah is about as ineffective and corrupt an organization as has ever existed. Arafat, who had a peace deal in his lap. rejected the peace deal and used the vacuum to embezzle billions. While ranting about the "Occupation", he used the chaos to abandon elections, maintain tensions with Israel, and through the intifadah t o engage in a constant low level war.

When I first came to this site, I would rant against Arafat, and not a single Muslim would open his mouth to criticize him. It was politically incorrect to blame anyone but Israel, so most Muslims just shut up. NOW you guys are telling me that Fatah is corrupt and ineffective. Doh! You are about a decade late.

But now you are falling for another scheme. Hamas was popularly elected. That is because they were the only organized a;ternative to the corrupt Fatah. But they are wolves in sheep's clothing. they are luring in the Palestinians with rumors of change, when the true agenda is even more horrible. Out of the frying pan into the fire...

Re: Hamas and Fatah Killing One Another

You make it sound as though it would have been better for the people to starve and go sick rather than receive social security from political organizations that have militants. The fact is that neither the Lebanese government nor the Palestinian Auhtority had the money, organization, or frankly the willpower to provide social services. Hamas and Hezbollah did not undermine the governments; instead they played in an area that their governments were unable and unwilling to play in.

Secondly, you make it sound as though Hamas and Hezbollah aid is conditional on support - ie they demand it, without offering any evidence for this. You overlook the fact that providing life-altering services earns support from the people by making them grateful to you.
Particularly when the government is Fatah, it’s easy for Hamas to say “We have given you food, shelter, medicine, education. What has Fatah given you? Which lifestyle is worth fighting for?”. For people who have to choose daily between siding with Fatah and suffering, or siding with Hamas and suffering a bit less, it becomes clear which option is in their own best interest. Nothing has to be demanded of them.

Over 5 years ago I accused Arafat of not representing his people.

4 Years ago I stepped forth and labelled him a dictator.

And my words about Fatah have gotten less and less kind since then.

And what specifically is this true agenda, and where did you get a copy of it to know it so well?

Re: Hamas and Fatah Killing One Another

Facts are Isreal is full of right wing. Most deny the right for Palestine to exist just like Hamas officially reject creation of Israel. Now the lefties in Israel cant deliver piece nor can Fatah. Been pissing around for the last 40 years. The people who can deliver goods to the table are Hamas. Either work with them or marginalise people more and you will get something like the Taliban heaven forbid. At this particular moment they are ready to work in a civilised manner, just like they where nearly ready to accept Israel but west happened that one. Just shows the more you try to engineer the situation the more it fires back.

Northern Ireland just shows regardless of who you want, it's usually the two extremes who bring piece. Who would have thought the IRA in government with Paisely Adams. It's like comparing Sheikh Yasin and Sharon being in the same government.

Well Said!

Re: Hamas and Fatah Killing One Another

No the problem is that as soon as left wing Israelis come to power, there are suicide bombings like the March 1995 Hamas bombings which leads the right wing to come to power.....

thats the problem

Re: Hamas and Fatah Killing One Another

Dont fool yourself. Fatah have been behind as many if not more killings of Israelis including suicide bombings. The name Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, Tanzin, F17 and got knows how many others Arafat setup ring a bell?
