One more observation whenever ASIAN players are found in breach of the ICC Code of Conduct they always get MAX penalty allowed but NON-ASIAN players get off to MIN penalty allowed.

Why do you think are there these levels of penalty?

Just one game ban? This is absolutely disgraceful and i think Graeme Smith should be given the maximum possible ban - and also even more to that fact he’s the captain who encouraged the dispute between Andrew Hall and Yousuf Youhana- it is just unacceptable.

I think Clive Lyod was fairly linient in handing out punishments. I agree Andrew Hall received a small punishment for his actions, but then again so did Youhana. I didnt realise this until I saw the whole drama and dean Jones was fair in saying that yousaf is guilty of waiving his bat in the face of Andrew Hall.

I think Ramiz Raja gave a good response to Dean Jones comment (about giving a lighter penalty to Youhana) that what Youhana did was a reaction. He was not the one to start the whole thing. He was dragged into the dispute. This was kept into consideration while penalizing him.

I think Youhana and Hall got a fair deal but Smith was off the hook too lightly. Being a captain, he should have behaved sensibly and should have also tried to cool down his team mate than to aggrevate the whole affair.

Hall loses appeal over two-Test ban](Yahoo is part of the Yahoo family of brands.)

LONDON (AFP) - South African allrounder Andrew Hall has lost his appeal against a two match ban and will miss the Tests against Pakistan starting this week.

The International Cricket Council Code of Conduct Commission’s Sir Oliver Popplewell, a former English High Court Judge, upheld ICC Referee Clive Lloyd’s ruling that Hall brought the game into disrepute.

Hall was banned for inappropriate and deliberate physical contact with Pakistans Yousuf Youhana during the second one-day match in Lahore on October 5.

He appeared to impede Youhana with an elbow while the batsman was taking a run.

“No one who has seen the video, and I have seen it four or five times, can be in any doubt that there was a very serious confrontation between Mr Hall and Mr Youhana and that a Level 3 charge of breach of C2 was entirely appropriate,” said Sir Oliver.

South African captain Graeme Smith was also fined and banned from one one-day match for using abusive language as the players argued over the matter.

The first Test starts in Lahore on Friday. The second Test is at Faisalabad on October 24-28.

Youhanna wasn't waving the bat at Hall, he merely pointed it at Hall who was advancing on him in an aggressive manner after having physically shove Yoyo with his elbow. Otherwise you can bet Yoyo would have had the book thrown at him.
