Hindustanis(Hindi-Urdu speakers) have trend of shortening their name in collage as well, as Praveen tripathi as PT, arbaaz badouni as AB. And they speak Hindi in such a speed that non native Hindustani can barely understand:D, Marathis speak in loud and proud manner, entire railway coach can listen if Marathis are speaking:D

Yes, even famous personalities shorten their names LK Advani, V P Singh, Z A Bhutto, BB (Benazir Bhutto).

Elite class own their culture and language while playing political stunts. 
ZA Bhuttos Sindhi was amazing. Just recently listened some of his speeches in Sindhi.. But BB’s Urdu was not that good, although she improved a lot. Her Sindhi was more hilarious than her Urdu and she didn’t pay much attention in improving that. I don’t think that Fatima Bhutto can speak Sindhi, although her Urdu is quite good.

here at least, Rahul and Priyanka speak excellent hindi, as they are active in politics and remained in India for most part of their lifetime. ZAB was a legend hence controversial like his contemporary Indira.

I think Sherry also speaks quite good Urdu. Although she has been associated to English Media (being editor of Herald) for a long time. Even Marvi Memon's Urdu and Sindhi are quite good.
