So I called this pakistani pizza place today to order pizza. I ask him do you have halal meat. He says yes. I ask what topings do you offer. He goes chicken, blah blah, pepperoni. I’m like pepperoni bhi halal hai? He says yes. I’m a little puzzled and ask isn’t pepperoni made with ham’s meat.
The guy asks me how educated am I? wtf? I’m like what has this got to do with my education? He tells me those who are educated enough created halal pepperoni and some other bullsh!t. I don’t like the guy’s attitude and tell em thank you very much for your time. He wants to continue with the lecture but I hang up.
So my question to the rest of you educated folks is was he for real? Is there something called halal pepperoni?
p.s. this was my first time ordering pizza over the phone.
Burgers are a way to prepare meat. They can be made out of ham, jhatka beef or halal beef.
Chicken Qorma is a way to prepare chicken. It can be made out of jhatka chicken or halal chicken.
Pepperoni too is a way to prepare meat. You can make it out of ham, jhatka beef or halal beef.
Most North American halal pizza shops carry Halal Pepperoni to cater to the local market, just like pizza shops in pakistan carry Chicken Tikka Pizza to cater to the local market.

I agree with GN, I've also heard that pepperoni is only pork. Especially if someone in US says its halal, i'll be really doubtful.
And that pakistani pizza place who asked you how educated you are, trust me, that means something is really wrong. He's just trying to twist your question.
I've seen many pakistani owners with similar attitude... never with any indians.
qibla..pepperoni is not a cut of meat but a way of preparing meat, traditionally it is made of pork but there is plenty of halal pepperoni out there, including some made and distributed by the largest halal products companies in north america, examples are below
