The alcohol issue: Central-Mosque.com redirector to the new design
Re: Halal-Haram
"alcohol contains some good and some evil, but the evil is greater than the good (2:219)"
this verse/aya does not say alcohol is haram. Every thing which is haram has been specifically mentioned in Quran. There is no specific mention of alcohol anywhere in Quran.
Re: Halal-Haram
^ so this means vanilla extract is halal? since this site is only talking about grape and date related things to be intoxicated.

yes.

mirch, I also no where stated that this ayat says about alcohol being haram. this ayat is from Surah Al-Baqarah. Surah Maida talks about alcohol consumption of being haram.
so anything that is causing harm to your body, is haram, that is why committing suicide is haram, and if you are starving for many days, at this stage even pork is halal for you (if nothing is available for you to eat)
Re: Halal-Haram
I sinned more wasting time on this useless thread than by eating an alcoholic cookie.
If you feel uncomfortable don’t eat it but a cookie is just a cookie
if you don’t want it give it to me…i’m too skinny:halo:
Re: Halal-Haram
If you have eaten a haram vanilla cookie by mistake, you can always cleanse and purify yourself later on with a pint of Heineken.
Good one. :k:
Re: Halal-Haram
kuttay ki dum kabhi seedhi naheen hoti....
children grow the hell up already.....
Doing some thing wrong is one thing..... twisting basics, SO you can still fell like little fairy is another thing.
And btw its a girl thing...they have issue with self image.
Re: Halal-Haram
what about other ingredient...what about Enumbers...are they haram ?
Re: Halal-Haram
I think this thread has lost its purpose. One can easily sense the seriousness and silliness in questions asked.
E-numbers have no meaning. One has to know what exactly they mean as content.
Again: if anyone for any reason wants to follow a restricted diet, that person has all the right to be following his or her thoughts.
For anyone who does not agree with other person instead of ridiculing that person, should respect that person and enjoy whatever he/she would prefer himself/herself.
If anyone wants to learn about dietary strictness, all they have to learn is how jews like to see their food prepared. The strictness of the rules and laws even brought the slang of something being "kosher" in to existence. Something that they prefer and is not ridiculed by people.
No need to ridicule anyone for dietary discretion. Period. :)
Re: Halal-Haram
For those who like to flood, can they try not to flood threads everywhere? My humble request. Please open threads for that purpose and flood all you want. Perhaps flooding should have some points attached or warning since it wastes other people time. What I am talking about is incessant talking off topic. Just few posts off track are fine. :)
omg...you can buy a large bottle of vanilla extract, slug it down and not have the slightest effect because the amount of alcohol is so minute. Also, heat destroys the alcohol, it cooks off.
If its still a problem, hey man, I will eat the cookies. All of em.
Well at the very least you may vomit.
That stuff smells NASTAY.
Re: Halal-Haram
AND REALLY...just to be on topic....I would worry more about the holier than thou attitude of knowing you will be in Jannat and smiling down on us sinners, than a freaking cookie.
Re: Halal-Haram
^It may be a personal feeling of hidden guilty feeling for whatever reason that someone thinks other being 'holier than thou'.
No one forces anyone to do whatever.
Just do the "unholy" act. More power to that person.
Just let others do the 'holy' act as they think. Agreed?
Re: Halal-Haram
just give an answer to her damn question and move on…
