so i am watching dastaan and i am very impressed with the direction, the attention to detail to recreate the period theme and the story line. I hadn’t heard of this director before and can’t find a lot of details online. Can anyone share information about his background including other dramas. I’d def like to catch his other works if they are as good as dastaan.

All I know is that he directed 2008 drama 'Chaudvin Ka Chand', a comedy set during the month of Ramzan...I simply loved it. I heard Momina Duraid and Haissam Hussain are teaming up again to make a film next year - that would be a dream come true.

He did Nur Pur ki Rani last year. That was well directed but Dastaan is a huge step forward for him IMO.
I still have to watch Muthi bhar matti.
Chaudveen ka chaand started out well but got boring/annoying really fast.

^ Yes CKC loses some of it's charm near the end, however it was a fresh take on Ramzan plays - bit of a trendsetter. Muthi Bhar Mitti was so intense and full of tragedy that it left me severely depressed. Dastaan is Haissam's best work by far.

i loved muthi bhar matti, tum say kaisay kahon, mili ali ko mili, aik tha larka and pari kahani. They all were so different but hated love unlimited. That was trash.

thank you folks for taking the time to give such detailed information. It's great to see new and upcoming directors doing such good work. Pakistani media has always been known to produce good quality tv shows -most of my hindi speaking indian friends grew up watching tanhiyaan, ankheen and dhoop kinare just as we all did.I think we went through a dark phase in the later half of the 90s, but directors like haissam and Mehreen have brought back our days of glory:) so proud of both of them!!

A very touching story! I kept on crying.
Haissam Hussain seems like a wonderful director! All his dramas i have watched so far have been excellent, including the tiniest things on the set. I loved his Chudaween ka Chand Ramadhan special in 2008 ( i think it was).
