Re: Hair straightening!
i recmmoned u get a hair cut..with layers starting from below your ears....it helps i was in the same position but after the bottom bit was lighter it got easier to straighten and took less time. also never forget to use conditioner.
Re: Hair straightening!
Layers isnt recommended for my hair cos itz quite thin, n yeh i use conditioner, n straightening it isnt a problem, the problem is getting the hair to look really silky n really straight, the feel of the hair isnt right even tho' its been straightened....Anywayz thnx
Re: Hair straightening!
Is there any saloons in karachi that offers Chi or straight n' shine treatments?
i'm sure most gud salons will use the really gud straighteners, i checked online n 'Chi' straighteners are a copy of the GHD's. U can either buy them from a gud salon or then ask sumone to bring them over from another country or u hav the option of purchasing online, but im sure the really gud salonz will be able to get u one, so just ask around!
Re: Hair straightening!
Stick to your GHD's.
Only wash your hair 2 times a week, 3 max.
Same for straightening it, only once or twice a week, any more than that then no wonder your hair aint behaving.
You should be washing it twice with shampoo, and leave conditioner in for atleast 5 mins.
Change your shampoo every 2 months.
Rinse hair with cold water as much as possible.
Dont ever comb or brush your hair when wet.
Spray liberally, a heat protecting UV protection spay on towel dried hair before straightening, (Aveda Brilliant is very good)
I have very frizzy and slightly curly hair, and i never have to straighten it more than once after washing it, it lasts for like 3 days, no kinks whatsoever. I do have really long thick hair though.
You should go to an Aveda salon as they really know their stuff, get some advice on whats best for your hair, you dont have to buy the products though, they are quite expensive.
Re: Hair straightening!
i straighten my hair occasionally, recently i hav started doing it more, but even then it would b like once a week.
U’ve given sum gud tipz thnx!
i dnt leave my conditioner in for tht long maximum 2-3 minz! and i dnt wash my hair with cold water, i usually use hot water…Y is cold water better for the hair?
I alwayz comb my hair wen wet ![]()
Do u blow-dry ur hair? I find it really difficult to blow-dry, my hair blows up like big frizz ball wen i attempt to blow-dry! ![]()
Re: Hair straightening!
You know, after I read about how damaging straightening hair is, I stopped completely, and I mean completely back in January. After a gap of 2.5 months, when I did it again last week, my hair behaved so well! It was silky straight and I loved it. Don't do it too frequently unless you absolutely have to because in the long run, it really harms your hair especially if you don't use a protective spray. A girl at Sephora told me that Chi silk infusion is the best one for protection. And don't forget to oil your hair and give it protein treatment every week.. it reduces the dryness and frizzes significantly.
Re: Hair straightening!
I never blow dry if im straightening, too much heat.
I dont know why cold is better, i just know that it works. Trust me, I have amazing hair.
But iv never dyed it ever and I have only been using heat products for like 8 years.

Re: Hair straightening!
this is what my sister told me she does.
after washing and using a LOT of conditioner on her hair, she sprays chi keratin mist on it and uses a wooden comb to brush her hair. then she puts chi silk infusion in her hair and lets it dry on it's own. once it is dry, she uses her chi straightener on it. she washes her hair every other day, but straightens it every single day. her hair is really healthy, and turns out really silky and smooth after she's done styling it.
also i was told that brushing your wet hair will make it fall more. i don't know about oiling it, because i never do it, and my hair is still healthy.
Re: Hair straightening!
i was having the same problems, my hair were so thick and so frizzy that they wouldn’t get straight no matter what i do. i used almost all the good straightening irons in the market, conir, revelon, ionic one (can’t remember it’s name) but what i really worked for me was chi’s straightening iron. i bought it from ulta it cost around $145 but you can find it for $100 on sale.
i just john frida’s frizz ease stuff, and do not try to straighten you hair the same day you take shower. do it the next day, after all teh moisture is out. once i even try to blow dry my hair after shower and then tried to straighten them but it doesn’t work, on the same days you take shower.
for dullness, try to use those heat protection spray that you are suppose to spray on your hair before using any hot iron. i got one from sally’s beauty salon and it works very well. it a little oily but only enough to give your hair shine not oily enough to make your hair look oily.
you can also use other stuff available in beauty supply’s store that are suppose to give your hair shine, they are supposed to be used in the end.
that’s all i know about hair straightening i hope i helped ![]()
Re: Hair straightening!
I put oil in my hair from time to time, but mostly leave in conditioning and serum.
