I have been advised to use Coconut oil for hair, i used it few times and realized that my hair were falling. Now, I am switching back to Almond + Olive Oil again. Any recommendations for a good hair oil?
Re: Hair Oil
My hair became dry and frizzy for the past few months. So what I did was mix coconut oil, almond oil and olive oil in a little jar together, heat it up (not scalding) and applied this on my hair for about 2-3 hours prior to showering. Doing this process over 1 month, twice a week has greatly helped my hair return to its normal, silky and well- nourished condition. Therefore, I would recommended this tried and tested method for yourself.
Also, are you getting enough iron nutrients in your system? Iron deficiency tends to cause hair loss.

Yup
Re: Hair Oil
Coconut oil is very greasy...I wouldn't use it. I recently bought some oils for split ends remedy....castor oil+almond oil+olive oil.
Re: Hair Oil
I thought you were using Argan Oil ?

I have half coconut oil bottle left may be I should add coconut oil to almond and olive oil. I have started taking iron supplements too but I have heard if you are taking green tea then iron supplements don't work for you. So, I take iron supplements during lunch and green tea after dinner.

I used to apply these 3 oils but I found castor oil quite sticky.

Using Argan styling oil just like a serum, apply in damp hair but other hair oils for the head massage.
You remember that LP. :p And how about your Jojoba /Avocado oils, any good?
Re: Hair Oil
Not jojoba/avocado.
Mine is a mixture of olive, coconut, castor and almond oil if I remember correctly. Its fine actually.

Re: Hair Oil
I usually mix olive, almond and a bit of castor oil. Whenever i do regularly , it does make difference but i’m way lazy. ![]()
Re: Hair Oil
How long do you apply it for?
It varies on different people on how long it takes to soak up the nutrients from the oils. Where for one person it may be an hour, another can be 4 hours.
Re: Hair Oil
^ Exactly , when i was so keen about my hair , as i had straighten them (hair rebonding) twice , i used to apply it over night, but even when i was running short of time i used to put it half hour ago or so depending upon time. But for sure my hair got very shiny with it and still Alhumdulilah i have good hair growth.

Coconut oil doesn't seem to suit me. I use a mix of olive, black seed and mustard.

Same problem with my hair, coconut oil did not suit me. I also brought mustard oil, it's more green than yellow , applied it few time but I dislike the smell of it. :/

The times I used it, it left my hair feeling dry after I washed the oil out.
Re: Hair Oil
Olive oil is the most popular home remedy for dry hair. The rich vitamin E and antioxidant content present in olive oil help heal damaged hair by sealing the cuticle, or outer layer, with moisture. Olive oil can be used as a hot oil hair treatment to strengthen, add shine and restore moisture to very dry hair.

My hair has been feeling dry recently. Even after I applied the egg hair mask which normally does wonders :(
Re: Hair Oil
Try dark castor oil mixed with equal part of almond oil. You can add a few drops of tea tree or peppermint essential oil as a further stimulant for the scalp.
I’ve just started using it for my daughter who had chopped off her hair and now wants to grow it out again.
I’m also using it for myself as a conditioning treatment to put some moisture back in my scalp since the henna/indigo process has a drying effect.
The one I picked up is called 'Jamaican Black Castor Oil". Apparently people have tested this and found that it not only improved the condition of their existing hair, they noticed new growth as well.
