Hair Oil

Re: Hair Oil

Where are you girls buying almond oil? I don’t see it at Target or Walmart.

Re: Hair Oil

^ You can find it at desi shops too

Re: Hair Oil

i tried olive oil with fenugreek seed it does work and coconut oil also helps reduce my dryness of hair.

Re: Hair Oil

The cheap, processed coconut oils make my hair frizzy. I find that organic, unrefined gave me much better results. It was easier to comb through my thick hair, after shampooing. Even pure olive and pure mustard oil gave me good results. I guess the pure factor is what matters. Mustard oil has a strong smell though, and you really have work the lather while shampooing to get rid of the oil.

Coconut oil should not make your hair fall, AFAIK. Are you sure nothing else is causing the hairfall? Iron deficiency, dandruff, certain medications, heredity, hormones etc

The coconut oil I have is by Organic Fields and its water-like consistency really helps moisturize the hair well.

Re: Hair Oil

Anyonr ever try Jamaican black castor oil? Or even Arnica oil? I’ve read they’re good.

Re: Hair Oil

I’ve just started using Jamaican Black castor oil. See post 20](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=20) in this thread.
Will need a couple of months to really give proper feedback on it.

Re: Hair Oil

Question, not sure if this was asked before but what shampoo do you guys use to get out oil? Your regular shampoo or something specially clarifying? I use volumizing shampoo on a regular basis, not sure if I sohould be using something else.

Re: Hair Oil

Just regular shampoo for me.
Lather, rinse and repeat usually does the trick.
If I’ve been really sloppy and generous with the oil then I shampoo three times to be sure.

Re: Hair Oil

What Muzna said.

I use normal shampoo and it usually washes out when I shampoo twice. If i still find hair oily then i shampoo thrice.

Re: Hair Oil

some folks put oil all the way down the hair shaft…when you really only need to put it on the scalp and the roots of the hair.
then it becomes hard to wash out and you have to shampoo repeatedly.

Re: Hair Oil

That’s me!

I find that it moisturizes the ends, so it is easier to comb through, less frizz/knots/tangles.

Re: Hair Oil

Arnica, I’ve heard is good as a pain relieving oil.

Any store that carries organic/natural stuff. I find that you have to be careful when buying from desi stores. Once I bought this mustard oil bottle that I ended up throwing out. I always have mustard oil at home, I have always bought it and I KNOW what it smells like. The desi store didn’t have the one I usually buy so I bought another brand. When I used it, the thing had a really weird smell. It said pure mustard oil on the bottle but it just wasn’t good quality I guess.

Just be sure, to not put anything wrong in your hair.

Re: Hair Oil

that’s great if you are able to shampoo it out completely.
many folks aren’t and are left with limp and greasy looking hair.
if there is a need to moisturize the ends consider using a tiny amount of a light oil or serum on the ends on washed hair rather than putting oil all the way down the shaft…

Re: Hair Oil

Yeah, I guess it depends on one’s hair type. It can be very hard to comb through otherwise, so any extra moisture is great. And I ideally i should be doing it twice a week. :cb:
