Hair Mascara

What is this? I had to make a poster for a marketing campaign regarding a hair mascara for Wella. However the thing is I have no idea what a hair mascara is or does? so any comments?

Re: Hair Mascara

Hair Mascara is basically mascara used for the hair. It looks the typical mascara bottle with wand that is used for the eyelashes. It comes in various shades...brown, bronze, blonde...to add highlights to hair. Or you can use it to cover up gray hair.

You just run the wand along the length of various hair strands. I've used it before and personally don't like it because it doesn't look natural. It looks clumpy.

Re: Hair Mascara

Mascara for the hair? So what is the actual product made up of? Similar ingredients to a typical eye mascara? Are the highlights temporary or permenant? For how long do they stay?:hmmm:

Must research and find out where I can get my hands on one. It sounds interesting.

Re: Hair Mascara

Redvelvet pretty much covered everything. It washes out with shampoo easily but its quite a messy process when applying. Its mainly water based so just dries onto hair. The latest trend is UV hair mascara. They come in ridiculously bright colours and are aimed at people who go clubbing.

Re: Hair Mascara

But what I want to know is that is it pretty much the same thing that is in the bottle of a typical eye mascara? or is it made differently? UV hair mascara seems like something I would not use ever.

Ok another question, to those people have used it or know about it.
When you apply it, does it dry? I mean let's say for a person who wears hijab, if they use hair mascara will the liquid ruin the hijab?

Re: Hair Mascara

Comes in what looks like a mascare bottle, maybe a little bigger. But the brush is exactly the same as a normal mascara brush. It dries like mascara dries, but its finer i.e not clumpy. heres a picture:

Re: Hair Mascara

OK the girl looks scary but thank you for posting that to illustrate how a hair mascara looks like or works

Thanx! Will probably sleep now that I know what a hair mascara is:hmmm:

Re: Hair Mascara

haha no worries. it doesnt always look that bad though, my mum uses it occasionally (in black) to cover her greys when she doesnt have time to dye her hair. actually saying that she sometimes just uses regular mascara too...:) LOL

This should answer your question on ingredients, etc.

Re: Hair Mascara

if you don't want to get highlights, a hair mascara can give you temporary highlights. they look really fake though, and don't even stay in for long. you can wash them out easily with water.

Re: Hair Mascara

I don't like the clumpy feel of it. Or the fake look of it. Or the hassle of my brush snagging through the mascara coating on my hair.

It's better to just get your hair dyed either professionally or by use of a commercial hair dye. Or even mehendi.

Re: Hair Mascara

i think it’s this one??

Re: Hair Mascara

Yes, that is an example of hair mascara. They can come in natural looking shades (brown, blonde, etc) or they can come in more vibrant shades (red, blue, green, etc).

Re: Hair Mascara

how come I have never seen a hair mascara here in dubai? :hmmm: redvelvet thank you so much with the posts and to everyone else who posted. now I know what it is:cb:

Re: Hair Mascara

ewwww hair mascaras. :vivo: i used jst once and then jumped to permanent hair colouring. simply stupid IMO.

Re: Hair Mascara

^why what happened? share your experience!

why you saying ewww billo?

Re: Hair Mascara

well first of all it doesnt go on smoothly it clumps, dires halfway while applyng even in chin length hair cuz the wand is small like its exactly the same as mascara wand and ur expecting it to cover the whole lenght of the hair which isnt possible :smack: second if its a dark colour like red/blue/purple it ownt show the colour is not really bright. third it fades away liek after 10-1 minutes. and it definitly messes up ur head scarf or head bands.

thats y i never used it again sum friend of mine suggested me to use it on my lashes instead but i never did didnt wanna go blind u knw :cb: so i actually tossed the bottle without even finishing it.

i cant replce hair colour or highlights.

Re: Hair Mascara
