Yep.. Weaves will damage your hair. They essentially put a french braid/cornrow horizontally along your scalp and sew the track of hair into that. The more tracks of hair, the more braids/cornrows and this is damaging to your hair over the long term. This is the only weaving that I know of - not sure if they do them any other way. But when I had it done and it grew out 2-3 weeks later, a chunk of my hair that had been braided to hold the weave came out. That really wasn’t fun. If you get a full head weave, your entire hair will be braided and the tracks sewn into those braids. There is supposedly a method of weaving called “no braids, no glue”. I’m not sure what it is but I’ve heard its less damaging and less painful.
