Oh yeah she has quite alot of you tube videos.
Re: Hair and Makeup Courses
I know that any "artist" skill is God Gifted and that with makeup you need to have the right skills and would need your "artistic" skills as well...I do not think that to learn the techniques any course that is not full-time and not for less than a month is enough. If as a bride to be you want to have someone who has been trained for 5/7days come and do makeup, then to save money, you might as well ask your younger sister/cousin to apply it for you.
Re: Hair and Makeup Courses
Anyone had any experience with the Lubna Rafiq academy?
Re: Hair and Makeup Courses
^I know someone who's done a course there, and she now does bridal make up. Although she is just starting out. her make up looks okay, pretty well done, but not AMAZING.
Re: Hair and Makeup Courses
Thanks, Ive just paid £200 for a deposit for next week and am now pretty sceptical about the whole thing, especially since its only for 5 days (£2000!). I was meant to train with some other artists a few months back but they just messed me around....seems like Lubna is the only artist who is professional and has positive feedback (on her page).
Re: Hair and Makeup Courses
I was really keen to do a course at Lubna Rafiq academy too, but considering I only wanted to learn how to do nice makeup on myself, the cost/duration ratio doesn't quite add up. However ColourfulEyes, if youre planning to take this into your professional life then I feel it might be worth it. Plus I've also heard good reviews about her! :)
Re: Hair and Makeup Courses
Since when is doing a professional make up course with dipilex recognised internationally,
As I done the course 6 yrs ago n it doesn’t seem to be recognised in the UK
I had to do further courses here to get insurance etc.
Re: Hair and Makeup Courses
None of these makeup courses (the MUA mentioned in this thread) r recognised either. I know If I had the choice I would rather spend that money and be trained in Pakistan by someone like Bina Khan instead...

All artist don't teach you alot they jus show u the basics best thing is to practises n experiment yourself
Have a look at bridal pictures n try to re create it
Pakistan is good for training but seriously you dnt learn much I spent loAds n in d end I learnt alot by practising n self experimenting
Re: Hair and Makeup Courses
My SIL did a make up course with Ambreen Ahmed (she does the make up for Asiana wedding covers and stuff), i find her make up a bit too dramatic though. Am still 50/50 on the make up
Re: Hair and Makeup Courses
As someone who’s done a few courses now I would say tred carefully. Do your research before hand otherwise like me you’ll be done thousands of pounds. I literally threw my money away training with Lubna and Uzma Rafiq. It’s all about making money, not teaching you anything. They are very good at talking the talking but there just full of them selves and don’t pay attention to what you want to learn.
Research the courses properly, what they teach you etc would be my advise and find out if there certified!
