anyhow, it was an embarassing defeat... would've been even more shameful if sami and malik got out earlier than they did.
i m all in to try sami as an opener ... if they can find a way to play him as a bowler then playing him an opener should be an easy justification :)

Pakistan v South Africa 1st ODI should be in the joke section. It would have been an even greater embarrassment had the last two wickets not added 103 precious runs to give the final score atleast some respectability.
At 125-8 they could so easily have folded for 140 or less
I have said it before and will say it again that Rana is garbage. He may take wickets but he leaks far too many runs for my liking and releases the pressure from one end.
And once again our big guns decided to bat lower down the order

Either they are scared to face the new ball or they just want to leave the dirty work to others. Your best batsmen must play the max. no. of overs but Inzi seems to think otherwise.
Contrast this with WC 92. Miandad still came in at 1-down or 2-down even though Pakistan collapsed in almost every game incl. the Final (25-2)
The last few games incl. the last test have clearly proven that Akhtar is our only truly world-class bowler. Asif performed commendably in the test series but I have my doubts about him consistently running thru the top and middle-order on his own like Actor can. Asif needs to get a yard or two quicker (atleast Akram's pace) if he's to consistently trouble top-class batsmen. Line and length stuff simply won't do it all the time. I still don't rate Asif as highly as Imran, Akram, Waqar and Akhtar.

This could have been blessing in disguise had they called for young talented players like Fawad Alam and Abdur Rehman but as long as Inzi is the captain he will always rely on experience and will take no chances

I couldn’t have put it any better. Although I am really losing hope and and trust in Inzimam…a.k.a match winner. Seemed like we were out for match practice to see how we can get out not really trying to stabilize. Lets hope they play better in the WC. I really don’t care about this series.
Also I am losing trust on loolmer as well…
