Hadith on charity

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Hadith # 118 (Riyadh us-Saleheen)

Abu Zarr(r.a.a) relates that the Prophet (s.a.w.) said
“When you get up in the morning charity is due from
every part of you body. All glorification of Allah
(to say subhan-Allah) is charity, all praise of Allah
(to say alhumdullilah) is charity, (to say there is no
God but Allah) is charity, enjoining good is charity,
(to say Allahhu-Akbar) is charity, forbidding somebody
from evil is charity. Two rakats of prayer offered
early after sunrise equal all this.”

Mundyaa,
My dear brother,

I am still waiting on some hadiths on doing good deeds and serving humanity!

On humility and charity:

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Charity does not in any way decrease the wealth and the servant who forgives Allah adds to his respect, and the one who shows humility Allah elevates him in the estimation (of the people).

On Daughters

He who is involved (in the responsibility) of (bringing up) daughters, and he accords benevolent treatment towards them, there would be protection for him against Hell-Fire.

Good deeds in General.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: While a person was going along the path he found a thorny branch upon it. He pushed it to a side and Allah approved (this action) of his and (as a mark of appreciation) granted him pardon.

Tormenting others.

Hisham reported on the authority of his father that Hisham b. Hakim b. Hizam happened to pass by people, the farmers of Syria, who had been made to stand in the sun. He said: What is the matter with them? They said: They have been detained for Jizya. Thereupon Hisham said: I bear testimony to the fact that I heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Allah would torment those who torment people in the world.

You could find only 1 reference to good deed!

Question for you:
In deciding who goes to jannah, will good deeds, charity be considered OR just how one follows the 5 Pillars?

taking care of your neighbors is also a good deed. so is raising ur daughter and treating them nicely... which by the way were burried alive before Islam. In some religions to this day they are looked as a curse and are given jobs like prostitution. pity.

now its my understanding that you can follow the five pillars of islam to the root and still endup in hell. Haqooq ul-ibad which are "rights of fellow humans" are more important than the haqooq-Allah. Does that make sense?

Abu Musa reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: A believer is like a brick for another believer, the one supporting the other.<<

What about non-believers shouldn't God treat all human beings equal. This does not serve all humanity just the ones who believe in Islam.

In some religions to this day they are looked as a curse and are given jobs like prostitution. pity. <<

No religion preaches to treat girls as curse read my post regarding empowerment of women in India. In fact the attorney general of New York is an Indian women (Ms. Bansal, born and brought up in India) and there are many prominent women in many senior positions both in US and India. I will post about them when I have more time.

faceup,

Your post,
"You could find only 1 reference to good deed!

A nicely put, Subtle statement to Provoke....smile

You know better than to ask a Mortal Human, to tell you how Allah the Almighty, decides/judges, or whatever the correct phrase....smile again

Waisay,
On your own thread about the report about what Shariah laws has done to women, it is not enough to state you got it from the Pakistan Human Rights Commission....

You probably didn't notice but I had requested you for the source and now that you did give it, when posting with some other member....too vague...

Could you give me a specific title, citation, or the name of a author/lawyer because my work has required me write to the PHRC in the past and I would like to inquire about this news item as well.

But I need something more specific....

P.S.
mundyaa,
Sorry, for veering off the topic here...

Deha,
I haven't gotten around to digging thru the HR reports for that extract; keep powder dry.

Re: Good Deeds!
Remember the Ghazi brothers.
Those guys were emphatic that nowhere in Quran it says that Good Deeds alone will get one into heaven; rather, only faith will! Of course, according to him only sunni-ism is the true faith!

Mundyaa, when you say:
"Haqooq ul-ibad which are 'rights of fellow humans' are more important than the haqooq-Allah. Does that make sense?
No, it does! Pls explain. Thnx

dehatan, i do not own this bb. be my guest and knock urself out.

faceup, Allah has made it clear that on the day of judgment he can forgive the things that fall under “haqooq allah” but he will not forgive those who did not abide the “haqooq ul ibaad”.

rani, with so much liberty given to indian women no wonder they occupy high posts every where. but why are they so keen to convert to christianity and Islam? just wondering… did you hear about this famous hindu author who converted to Islam some time ago. i personally know 3 hindu families in northern virgina alone who converted to christianity after coming here to US. Why is it that more educated hindu families prefer not to be related with hinduism?

faceup,

"Deha,
I haven't gotten around to digging thru the HR reports for that extract;..."

If you do get to it, Please post it for me on your thread.

I did mail the PHRC a copy of the info that you posted, may be that will be enough for them to recognize which document I am looking for.

Thanks..

Mundayaa,

The writer became muslim because she wanted to marry a muslim man. I know of nobody who became christian and I know many Indians. Religion is a personal choice and everybody in India and everywhere else should be free to choose what they like and change their religion if they so desire. I don't see anything wrong with it. Actually all societies should allow people to change or experiment with their believe system and I think all free societies do that.

The writer became muslim because she wanted to marry a muslim man. <<<

the writer was a 50 year old woman... who had no intentions to marry anyone at that age.

in that regards india isnt a free society afterall... cos hindus there are not being allowed to convert to other religions.

India is free, I can worship or not worship anything I want.....it is left to the individual. If you are trying to bring christian organised conversion that is not same as individual deciding to change there religion it is a organized religious body trying to bribe people to convert. People are fed up with foreign missionaries coming for the sole purpose of bribing illiterate people to convert. There is no government law against it but local people are acting out of frustration.

Mundya,

What would happen to a Muslim if he/she converted to Hinduism or Christianity? I know we all love our Islam, blah, blah & more blah! Hypothetically, pls tell us what would happen!

thanks

Mundyaa,
could you answer my question of the 5th, if you wont then I shall start a new thread on it. My question was:

What would happen to a Muslim if he/she converted to Hinduism or Christianity? I know we all love our Islam, blah, blah & more blah! Hypothetically, pls tell us what would happen!

thanks

what do u mean what would happen to a person if he converts to another religion from Islam? You mean if the molvies will let him/her live?

well qadianies are converted kafirs from Islam. they arent being butchered in rabwa are they? they are called non-muslims but then again thats a result of their faith that doesnt make them qualified to be muslims.

ok
